Hello autumn!

Well hello to you my reader chums!

Crisp chilly mornings, berry lips, blanket scarfs and cosy nights in, hello autumn. Without a shadow of a doubt, autumn is one of my favourite seasons. The whole frosty vibe, Christmas run up and shorter days fills my heart with so much warmth. Surrounded by twinkly fairy nights and lingering, cinnamon flavoured candles, autumn time is the queen for nights in; Lush baths and film evenings galore.

Fashion - With the burgundy, khaki, mustard and deep purple shades coming back into play, autumn is my favourite season to experiment with fashion. I love layering up shirts, jumpers, scarfs and coats, then pairing them with Chelsea boots. The tartan scarfs and wooly hats are out, awaiting the festive season that lays ahead. It's such a cosy time, when evenings mean your most snug pjs and fluffy socks, worn without a care in the world.

Makeup - As the chillier weather hits, its the season for slightly heavier makeup, copper eyes and the oh so glorious berry lips, aka my favourite look to wear. I love everything about warm toned eye shadows and dark lipsticks, as not only does it compliment my skin tone but fashion choices also.

Activities - Whether it's firework displays, bonfires, film evenings or a cosy night time bath, all the activities autumn brings are incredibly charismatic. I have to admit, Guy Fawkes night is one of my best days of the year, the colourful fireworks, hearty snacks and lingering smell of bonfires truly makes me smile. With Lush's Halloween range released and their festive collection coming out soon, it's the time of year to fully indulge in spicy, enriching baths.

I hope you enjoyed this welcome to autumn post. What's your favourite thing about this season?

June favourites ❤️

Well hello to you my reader chums! With the exciting month of June now over, it's time to share all the products I've been enjoying these past few weeks. June was an incredible month filled with countless sensational moments including a girls holiday, Brighton and celebrating my 20th birthday! Now summer is fully underway ( lets hope the British weather gets the message soon), I can't wait to see what more fun adventures lay ahead.

Here's an overview of all my favourite monthly products:

June favourites

June favourites

The Body Shop Seaweed mask

The first favourite is a new skincare love of mine, Body Shop's seaweed face mask. I picked this up just over a month a go, following a recommendation on Twitter by a fellow beauty blogger. I'd ran out of my Lush face mask 'Brazened Honey' and chose to opt for something new - I have to admit, I was certainly impressed! As labelled, it's a clay mask so applies wet and sets like clay to the skin. This means when washing off, ( I use a circular motion), it helps exfoliate this skin at the same time as drawing out the impurities. I've been using it on a weekly basis and have found my skin to feel fresher, smooth and completely clean after a face mask. However, on sensitive areas such as my under eyes, if I use a lot of product, it can leave them feeling dry and tender, therefore I usually layer it more on oily stricken areas.

Zoella Sweet Inspirations body mist

The next favourite has to be an item from Zoella's new collection, the Sweet Inspirations mist. If you saw my review on her entire new range, you'd know I'm addicted to the heavenly sweet scent! The mist has to be my favourite product I've tried from the collection so far -  The smell is that delicious you'd want to eat it and it lingers all day long. With utterly adorable packaging and a scent that'll make your taste buds tingle, it's become an everyday staple.

Rimmel's BB cream

Another product I've been loving is an olden goldie for me, Rimmel's BB cream. This base is something I use every now and then when I'm having phases of how much coverage I need. As I went on holiday early June, I got a fair amount of use out of this due to it's SPF factor and light coverage. On the days I wore makeup, I applied this with a bit of concealer, powder, bronzer and mascara - a simple yet wearable, easy quick look in the beaming heat.

Mac's Lady Danger and Kiko lip liner

Lastly, this lip duo is the dream team of the orange lipstick world. When it comes to summer or the warmer weather shines through, a staple look I adore is orange lips. I find with a tan and glowing bronzy cheek bones, nothing looks better. My favourite to wear as pictured above is Kiko's lip liner in '306' and my beloved Mac's 'Lady Danger.' By pairing these not only have I found the colour to be more vibrant, but the lasting power is absolutely flawless. The products on their own are pretty long wearing ( especially the lip liner, nothing budges it) so when put together, you know it'll last throughout the evening. Even though both lip products are matte, neither feel drying upon application and blend really easily; couldn't fault them.

I hope you enjoyed this Junes favourite post. What products have you been loving?

3rd Blog birthday and Mac lipstick giveaway!

Well hello to you my reader chums! Today is a very special day on my blog as it's 'Della Loves Nutella's 3rd birthday! 3 years ago today, I took the plunge and created my own little space on the Internet, which in turn has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Della Loves Nutella Blog 3rd birthday!

Through the course of these three years, this blog has grown with me. I've used it as a diary, writing about holidays, adventures, special moments, a place to discuss all my favourite beauty items and even an area where I've shared some of my personal issues- in a sense it's been a form of therapy for me. Writing is something that makes me extremely happy; this blog has become an escape, a hobby I adore and I couldn't be more glad I'm still posting to this day.

When I began I was only 16 years old, with no clue whatsoever on how to run a blog, what to write about or where I would be in the future; a shy, insecure teenager. Now, I've grown into a happy young woman, confident in my body, my looks and growing in happiness everyday. I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by the most loving friends, family and to have experienced countless exciting memories with even more to come.

I want to take this moment to say a big thank you - whether you were with me from day one and are still reading today ( I know the odd few) or are a newcomer to my blog; thank you for the endless loving comments and adoring support. The beauty blogging community as a whole is incredibly heart warming, constantly advising or sending sweet messages on various social platforms especially Twitter. Blogger chats on there are one of my favourite things to join in with as everyone is so welcoming and we can share our love of beauty, together!

Since I've hit such a milestone, reaching the 3 year mark, I thought I would do a giveaway as a gift of gratitude. What better item to giveaway than a Mac lipstick - I'm utterly obsessed with lip products so I thought it was only right to give away a Mac lipstick of your choice!

March favourites ❤️

Well hello to you my reader chums! With the exceptional month of March completely over, it's time to share with you everything I've been loving over the past few weeks. March was a whirlwind to say the least. It was packed with many incredible moments, adventures and experiences, all I will cherish forever. As loads of exciting things did occur, I don't have many beauty products to share, however there's a couple of gems I adore.

Here's an overview:

March favourites

March favourites

Sleek's Face form palette in 'Light'

The first product is a rediscovered, old favourite of mine, Sleek's Face Form palette in 'Light'. This used to be my go to contour/highlight palette because the bronze shade was the perfect colour to achieve that shadowed look and the blush/highlight were incredibly shimmery, drawing light to the cheek bones. Over the past few weeks, I've been loving the blush and highlight shade especially, together or even using one, because it gives the make up look that natural added glow. Also, the packaging of this product is brilliant, not only does it come with a large mirror but if travelling you have 3 products in one!

Kiko single eye shadow

Another love of mine has been this single gold toned Kiko eye shadow. I've gained an obsession with Kiko recently, every product I've tried of theirs has been top quality for the price you pay. This eye shadow in particular reminds me of Mac's 'amber lights', however is slightly more gold than orange toned, ideal if you prefer a gold coloured eye look. I find as I have blue eyes, like 'Amber lights, this colour really helps emphasise them. The pigmentation and consistency is gorgeous, I definitely want to give more of their eye shadows a try!

Perfect pink nude lip duo

The last products are a favourite lip duo of mine that I've been wearing quite frequently in the past few weeks, either together or just the lipstick on it's own for a more subtle effect. The lip liner is another gem from Kiko in the shade '315'. I absolutely adore this, the colour is a slightly dark dusky pink and the overall lasting power is amazing; it'll last for hours on end without fail. It somehow once applied has the ability to cling to the lips so when paired with a lipstick helps the duration of wear last. I like pairing it with Mac's Faux as the liner is a tad darker, enhancing the lips even further. The colour together blends to a gorgeous dark dusky pink, a rather sophisticated yet natural option to opt for. As the lipstick is a satin finish when I wear it with or without the liner, it's quite moisturising on the lips, giving them a ever so subtle sheen; I love this combination.

As I previously mentioned, March was an extremely busy month for me; I visited Barcelona, saw James Bay live, went to the Cadbury Crème Egg Café, celebrated my best friend's birthday, brother's birthday and many other events in between, I feel extremely lucky. Looking back I can't believe all the exciting and incredible things I got to experience over the past month, the fun I had with the most important people in my life. The spontaneous adventure, endless laughs, quirky chats, loving moments and more, March was a month to remember.

I hope you enjoyed my monthly favourites! What products have you been loving over the past few weeks?

Lip edition: The perfect pink nude combo ❤️

Well hello to you my reader chums and happy Saturday! I have to admit when it comes to lipsticks I'm a total hoarder, out of all my makeup it's my biggest collection. I love trying out new shades to pair with eye looks, completely changing the finished make up especially throughout the different seasons. Today I'd like to share one of my newly discovered favourite lip combinations,  I describe as the perfect pink nude.

I've never really been one for using lip liner, I usually apply the lipstick firstly with a brush and then go straight over it directly from the bullet to get the full colour pay off. However, I recently picked up some gorgeous Kiko liners and have been obsessing over them. I find when worn by themselves or paired with a lipstick, the lasting power is incredible, keeping my lipstick in place for much longer.

My favourite combination at the minute is the Kiko lip liner shade in 315, a beautiful berry toned dusky pink paired with Mac's lipstick in 'Faux', this stunning pink nude colour. To create the look, I firstly outline my lips with the liner and blend it round the edges ensuring it doesn't look too different to the lipstick, only slightly defining it. Then I apply 'Faux' over the top and you're finished with fuller looking natural lips, enhanced nicely by the slight darkness of the liner.

Here's a few swatches ( Faux on the left and 315 on the right):

I hope you enjoyed this lip edition post. What's your favourite lipstick combination?

October favourites ❤️

Well hello to you my reader chums! With October now coming to a close, it's time to share all the products I've been enjoying throughout the past month. Is it just me or did October just fly by? Christmas is drawing nearer and I can't wait till all the festivities begin! Evenings are becoming cosier and colder but with the promise of winter quite soon, I'm pretty excited.

Lets get into the favourites, here's an overview of all the items:

The first favourite of mine has to be berry lips. For me this is one of the many reasons I love Autumn so much as you can whip out every berry lipstick in sight. In particular I've been recently loving is the very hyped Mac's 'Diva'. I purchased this at the end of September after it being on my wishlist for the longest time and I must admit it lived up to every expectation. The colour pigmentation itself is absolutely gorgeous, I would describe it as a dark, vampy burgundy. In terms of lasting power, it's a lengthy, long wearing product. I could put it on at the beginning of an evening and when I got back home it would still be on my lips with minor wear marks due to drinking/eating. Even though its a matte shade, the lipstick isn't drying and holds a rather creamy consistency that when applied feels luscious on the lips. I completely and utterly adore it, where it's definitely become one of my go to berry lipsticks!

Another favourite of mine has been this Aquis towel. Now you may think isn't that a pretty random thing to put into your favourites post? This towel however, is designed as a hair wrap, aiding your hair to dry naturally without any heat use. I have to admit before I began using this, I would just leave my hair to air dry, sleeping on it when it was quite damp. Yet once my hair has been washed, I'll now towel dry it a tad, wrap this up and the leave it till it's completely dry. Usually prior to using the head wrap, my hair would be rather tangly and knotty in the mornings, yet now there's a complete difference; I wake up to my hair feeling much smoother, softer and easier to brush. It's honestly made a real difference as my hair as a whole feels healthier.

When it comes to applying makeup, I like to change up techniques from time to time. Real techniques are my favourite brushes and for the past few weeks, to apply concealer I've been reaching for my contour brush which I typically use for highlighting. However, I found it to be a dream to blend under eye concealer because its the perfect size to get into that area on my face and is incredibly soft, not tugging on the sensitive skin under my eyes.

Another item I've been loving lately is the Zoella beauty 'Blissful mistful'spray. I purchased this last year when her first range came out and absolutely adored the scent of all the products. To me they smell rather similar to Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' which is my favourite scent. I found that over the past few weeks, Zoella's body mist has become my go to everyday perfume choice. It isn't too heavy or overpowering as its designed to be a mist, however the scent lasts well and I genuinely love it. The packaging is super sweet as well!

The last makeup product is the Sleek Faceform kit in 'Light'. This is a very old favourite of mine which I always go back to. I've been loving the combination of the blush and highlight in this palette with contoured cheeks as it gives the full contour and highlight effect, lifting up my cheekbones. The highlighting shade is rather subtle, adding that slight shimmer when the light hits and the blush enhances the natural colour on the apples of the cheeks. Therefore when paired, its not too over dramatic, yet gives a gorgeous natural looking highlight. I've been wearing my Estee Lauder bronzer with this duo as its more warm toned than the bronzer in the palette.

Lastly, one of my top things this month has been reading. On a chilly evening, there's nothing more perfect than wrapping up with a good book. Over the past few weeks, I've been reading 'The girl on the train' and I have to say it was absolutely remarkable. I loved every single word and how it grabbed you, enticing you to read more. The plot line is faultless and the way the story was conveyed is so gripping you never want to put the book down. As soon as I picked it up I was hooked and would recommend it to any book enthusiasts out there. It certainly lived up to the best seller status and all the adoring reviews I've heard. Since I loved it that much, I've passed it onto my best friend so she can read it, hence why it's not pictured in the main October favourites image. I would go on to tell you what the book is about but I don't want to ruin it for any of you. I have to say I haven't read many thriller type novels, yet this book is definitely up there with the best I've ever read!
Utterly flawless and a must read.

I hope you enjoyed my October favourites. What things have you been enjoying over the past month?

Autumn essentials

Well hello to you my reader chums! With Autumn well and truly among us, it's time to share with you all my beauty and fashion essential items I love in this heart-warming season. Autumn is the time which I adore, where everything becomes that extra bit cosier, nights become longer, leaves fall off the trees and fashion/makeup can be much more daring. Christmas is approaching and the newly found excitement is just beginning!

Here's an overview of all my favourite things:

Jumpers - One of the best things about the weather turning colder is the wrapping up of clothes. I particularly love jumpers because on a cold day inside, there's nothing better than throwing on a comfy jumper and leggings to chill. Or wearing jumpers as part of any look, paired with jeans, cute Chelsea boots and a coat, layering is just fab. I have to be honest and say I own several jumpers in a variety of colours from fitted ones to more baggier options, both of which I love to wear on different occasions. The jumper choice above is a rather recent purchase which to me screams Autumn. It's from H&M, in a burnt orange/rust colour that when paired with navy jeans and brown boots looks like the perfect Autumnal outfit. I find jumpers the quickest clothing item to style as you can put them easily with either trousers or a skirt, choose some shoes and you're ready to go.

Tartan scarfs - Another clothing must in this season is scarfs, in particular tartan ones. I own 4 or 5 different styled tartan print scarfs which I alternate with different looks. Some are quite thin and designed to make an outfit look that extra bit chic, whereas many of the ones I own are rather thick, large enough to be a small blanket! With that extra thickness it helps keep in the heat on those rather chilly Autumn days. I love the layering of scarfs especially the ones in this print, as the colours they usually come in are those typical Autumnal tones or Christmas-esque colours, great for the upcoming excitement.

Berry lips - Probably my most favourite element in this season and that's berry lips. It's safe to say I'm a lipstick addict and one of those beauty lovers which will buy various similar coloured lip products. Out of all dark lips my top colour to go for is berry/burgundy tones as I simply just adore them. I think they compliment my complexion well and add that edge to any makeup look. I like to wear darker lips anyway on evenings out, yet when it hits Autumn I find myself grabbing for those colours more frequently and using them in the day. The options in the image above is the very hyped up Rimmel 107 and a newly addition of Mac's 'Diva' (yes I finally got it!) Even though both the shades are pretty similar, I find 'Diva' is a more vampier, darker option giving more of a purple tone whereas Rimmel's 107 has that slightly more berrier/pinker tone. Both however are absolutely  gorgeous, hold the best pigmentation and last for hours!

Lip balm - A more essential type item for this time of year is most certainly lip balm. I'm one of those people that when the cold hits my lips become incredibly dry. Therefore wherever I go I like to carry a lip balm with me as there's nothing worse than having ultra dry lips. My current favourite is Blistex's intense moisture pick because it has a scent very similar to vicks just not as strong, meaning when applied to the lips it feels like its doing something quickly due to the strength. I think it's best for those who suffer with extra dry lips because it can really aid with healing them.

Hand cream - Alike to my lips, when the cold weather strikes my hands become terribly dry and can crack if not taken care of, therefore a top essential for me is hand cream. I usually alternate between what hand cream I use and at the minute I'm enjoying the notable Soap and Glory's hand food. I bought this in the miniature size so I'm able to carry it with me on the go in case my hands aren't in a good state, I love the scent of this because  it's a blend of sweet and dusky that's not too overpowering. Also, the main thing I like is how its not greasy when applied onto the skin, nor does it take forever to sink in - the best qualities you can find in hand creams!

Bath bombs - My last Autumn essential are simply bath bombs, With colder weather now approaching, there's no better time to arrive home from work, run a lengthy warm bath, pop in a delightful bath bomb and sit back to relax, warming yourself up. Lush are typically my best option when it comes to bath products as there's nothing more luxurious than treating yourself to one of their treasures. I love how you can spend as little as 15 minutes to an hour, delving into an abundance of bubbles and letting your worries just float away! In my opinion it's just a divine way to de-stress an unwind on a chilly evening.

I hope you enjoyed this Autumnal post. What are your essential Autumn clothing or beauty items/tips?
