Well hello to you my reader chums! A couple of weeks ago, I picked up the ever so hyped, L'oreal Infallible primer as I was on the hunt for a new primer and had heard many incredible reviews. I have quite normal skin, however, my forehead tends to get oily from time to time. Therefore, I wanted to find a primer or a way of minimising this problem and as the L'oreal one claims to 'mattify' the skin, I was excited to give it a go!
Packaging
I love the packaging! The design looks rather professional with the monochrome theme, nearing a more higher-end vibe than drugstore. I like the size of the tube because it holds a substantial amount of product ( I've used this for a few weeks now not making a dent) and when squeezed out by the nib, it doesn't go everywhere but leaves you with the right portion to apply to the skin.
Consistency
Initially, when using the primer, I was rather surprised by the consistency. The texture appears quite watery, yet thick, great for massaging into the skin and covering the entire face. I found that a little goes a long way as since the consistency was thicker than expected, you could blend it throughout the skin without needing more product. The primer as you can see from the tube is clear which I much prefer to nude coloured, creamy primers. Despite the texture of this product, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin and sits well, ready for other base products to be applied.
Application
Is it weird to say I really enjoy applying this primer? As the consistency is slightly thicker but soft to touch, it feels lovely when blended into the skin. It settles pretty much straight away too, perfect to continue the rest of your makeup, especially if you're in a rush!
Lasting power
Being a primer, the most important thing is certain its lasting power and I can reveal it truly does the trick. As I work the typical 9-5 I'll do my makeup around 7am and get home about 6pm, so a good 11 hours for my makeup to last. Since using this primer as part of my routine, I found that not only has it really helped keep my makeup in place, it's also minimised the shine I usually get on my forehead by the end of the day. When using other primers, they didn't reduce that shine yet this product does and it's probably why I'm now obsessed with it! The L'oreal primer definitely lives up to the 'mattifying' name because as I said, it completely helped reduce the shine and really helps to keep the entire face matte all day long.
I hope you enjoyed this review. Have you tried this L'oreal's Infallible mattifying primer?
