Review: Temple Spa Skincare | Gifted

Well hello to you my reader chums! There's nothing more refreshing than discovering and trying new skincare products. When I got gifted* some of the Temple Spa products, I couldn't have been more excited as I've heard many good things about this brand. Temple Spa definitely has that luxury appeal to it with a higher price tag but the quality is truly worthwhile.

If you're looking to purchase some new skincare products with a more luxurious feel, here is my full review of the Temple Spa skincare range.

Temple Spa Skincare

Deep Cleansing Melt

Solid cleansers are always a product I've loved to use in my skincare routine as I find they feel a lot nicer on the skin and really cleanse the way they should. Temple Spa's Deep Cleansing Melt is a luxury solid cleaner that is recommended to use day and night and how I've been using it as part of my routine.

The cleanser is branded as a 'facial in a jar' and I definitely see why. When I use a pea-sized amount of product and massage it into the skin, it feels rich, soft, and has the lingering scent of a spa. The cleanser is slightly oily and creamy in texture but I like that as it makes it quite movable on the skin. The product is recommended to take off with a damp cloth but I find by washing it off normally, it washes off nicely - and leaves my skin feeling revitalised and nourished.

Glowcolic Resurfacing Toner

The toner comes in a spray style bottle and has a similar lingering scent to the cleanser: like the freshness of a spa. I find the toner works really well to swipe over the skin after washing off the cleanser as it gets the remnants of dirt and cleanser off of the skin.

The toner is really refreshing and light on the skin and is a lovely addition to my skincare routine. Once the toner has been wiped all over my skin, it adds to the refreshing feel and my skin is nourished. Although, I wouldn't say it's much different from the Pixi Glow Tonic which I much prefer.

Purification Deep Cleansing Mask

I have a lot to say about this cleansing mask, it's honestly the mask of dreams. Not only does it have the luxury appeal of the packaging and the overwhelming scent of spas and tea tree oil, it feels like heaven on the skin. When I apply it, the mask smooths so easily across the face and the smell transports me to an actual spa day.

I usually leave the mask on for around twenty minutes or more and use it once a week for the best results, and I can assure you, it leaves my skin feeling happy, refreshed, and like new. It's one of those masks that have so much goodness in, when washed off, it's as if I went for an actual spa treatment. It has to be my favourite product of Temple Spa's and I'm surprised I haven't seen more hype about it as it really does make a huge difference to my skin in how it feels. I even lent it to my friend and she applied it to the sunburn on her face, and when she washed it off, it had really calmed the sunburn down and it wasn't sore anymore.

Temple Spa Skincare

Moisture To Go Balancing Moisturiser

The moisturiser is a brilliant product and probably one of my favourite moisturisers I've tried. It has the perfect combination of lightness, nourishment, and the loveliest spa scent like the rest of the products. It applies super quickly to the skin, sinking in almost immediately which I love before putting on my makeup for the day.

The moisturiser leaves my skin feeling super smooth and soft to touch and hydrates it, ready for the day. I particularly like that it's not oily or thick but still gives the right level of hydration to the skin.

Overall thoughts on Temple Spa

As a slightly pricier brand to those sold on the High Street, I was quite skeptical that the products wouldn't live up to the price tag, however, I've been incredibly impressed by each of the products, especially the purification mask and the moisturiser. The quality is high, they do what they say on the tin and I'd definitely repurchase some of them again as a treat. Although, it's also worth noting that even though I loved these products, there are cheaper alternatives that have done a similar job to my skin.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Have you tried Temple Spa products?

Review: Green Planet Beauty skincare

Well hello to you my reader chums! For the past few years, I've been actively trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle and I've made a lot of changes to my beauty routine, wardrobe, how I travel, and lifestyle.

This post contains affiliate links.

Green Planet Beauty Skincare

For Christmas, my sister kindly bought me some new skincare from Green Planet Beauty which is a natural, vegan, plastic-free, and cruelty-free beauty brand. I was very excited to receive the skincare range and try it out, as I've been looking for a more sustainable skincare brand.

I received a solid cleanser, moisturiser, eye gel, and lip balm as a set. The cleanser came without any packaging, the moisturiser and eye gel came in refillable tins (you're able to buy refills for each product), and lip balm in cardboard type packaging.

After trialing the products for a few weeks, I can honestly say, I've fallen in love with the skincare range and don't think I'll go back to any other products. Here is my full review of each product from the range.

Shea Butter Cleanser Bar

I've never tried a solid cleanser before using this. I'm a huge fan of solid shampoo and conditioner and this was just as great. The cleanser bar looks like a typical block of soap and had a similar scent - the kind of natural soap smell. I wasn't the biggest fan of the scent as it had no additional perfume to it but I liked that as I knew I wasn't putting additional chemicals onto my skin.

My favourite thing about the cleanser has to be how it lathers up. To use it, I moisten the cleanser and then rub it onto my hands until it lathers up. It only takes a small amount to lather the product up well and massage it onto the face. The cleanser really feels like it gives my skin a full scrub, but doesn't feel like I'm putting anything on it if that makes sense. My skin feels a little dry when I first wash the cleanser off, but once I dry my face, it leaves it feeling completely soft and revitalised.

Hyaluronic Acid Daily Moisturiser

I could rave about this moisturiser all day long! The moisturiser is designed to rejuvenate and protect and contains grapefruit and ylang-ylang. It has the perfect kind of consistency, not too thin but not too thick, and blends into my skin like an absolute dream. I love applying it. Once it's sunk in, my skin feels incredibly smooth and nourished.

The scent of the moisturiser is beautiful; it's fresh with an underlying citrus smell which I think comes from the grapefruit ingredient. The tin is pretty small but due to the moisturiser's consistency, I know it's going to last for a long time. And, when I've used it all, I'll happily order a refill pack.

Green Planet Beauty Skincare

Hyaluronic Acid Eye gel

I don't want to sound overly dramatic but I'm obsessed with this eye gel. It's made with cucumber and aloe vera which makes it incredibly soothing to apply under my eyes in the morning or evening. The scent of the eye gel is really subtle with a lovely aroma of cucumber running through it.

I like to apply this after my moisturiser under my eyes, it adds an extra ounce of moisture on the most delicate part of my face. My favourite part is how thick the consistency is and I only need the tiniest amount to blend in. Once sunk in, my skin feels incredible, I want to spread it all over my face.

Natural Lip balm

I love lip balm, especially in winter as my lips get incredibly dry - and this balm does the job beautifully. I find balms made with overly perfumed oils only make my lips drier but this does the opposite. It actually nourishes my lips and doesn't make me need to keep using more lip balm throughout the day. The balm is made with argan and avocado oil.

The lip balm is also made out of completely recyclable material which means once I've used it all, the packaging won't go to waste.

Overall thoughts of Green Planet Beauty

I adore this Green Planet Beauty as a whole. The ethics behind it are exactly what I stand for: waste-free and reusable in every sense. And, every product I've tried is of top quality and I've fallen in love with. I can't wait to try more of their range out.

I hope you enjoyed this brand. Have you tried it out?

Review: Thrive CBD Oil | Gifted

Well hello to you my reader chums! I've heard a lot about CBD oil over the years and how it's meant to benefit the body and mind in so many ways. I never really thought about trying it out in all honesty as I hadn't researched it enough. However, when Thrive got in touch to review their oil, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to see if the oil would work for me and see what Thrive is all about.

Here is my full review and experience:

Review: Thrive CBD Oil

What is Thrive?

Thrive is a new start-up business in the CBD wellness space, and they offer a range of different, organically sourced CBD oils. Their aim is to design products that redefine our attitudes towards self-care and offering a solution to feeling happier and healthier. Their CBD oils are THC-free which means, they do not get you high. The organically sourced oil has two different flavours, peppermint and blood orange.

What are the benefits of CBD oil?

CBD, short for Cannabidiol is one of the cannabinoid chemical compounds found in the Cannabis plant. CBD isn't like actual Cannabis the drug as it doesn't get you high or have any mind-altering effects. CBD is designed to work with our bodies - our bodies will produce cannabinoids which are used throughout our endocannabinoid system (ECS.) This system contains receptors that regulate our mood and emotions - and CBD helps those receptors restore beneficial changes in the body.  The oil is vegan, gluten-free and GMO-free. And, it's been lab-tested twice and is 100% safe.

The benefits of CBD oil are all about finding the balance within your body. The whole idea behind it is to do everything you need to do, but feel better whilst doing it.

Review: Thrive CBD Oil

The taste and scent

The oil comes in two different flavours peppermint and blood orange. I chose the peppermint flavour as I loved the idea of a fresh, minty taste. The scent of the oil is very natural and has a fresh hint of mint running through it and when I place it under my tongue, it tastes exactly the same as the scent. The taste lingers in my mouth for a few minutes until it's absorbed and then the taste goes soon after, so it's like I haven't even placed it in my mouth.

The experience with the oil

I didn't know what to exactly make of the oil. I've heard lots of good things prior to using it, and I decided to start using it before I went to bed and first thing in the morning, and tested it over the series of a few weeks to see how things would change.

The bottle recommends using 4 full pipettes spread over 2-3 doses per day. They also advise to slowly build the intake up, until you figure out if you need more or less as part of your daily dosage. I liked to use it twice a day as that was best for my morning and evening routine.

The process of using oil is really simple. I give the bottle a shake and then drop the oil underneath my tongue and wait 60-90 seconds for it to fully absorb.

I really enjoyed the process of taking the oil and some of the effects I began to notice as I made it a more prominent part of my routine.

Effects of the oil

I really love this oil and I'm excited it's part of my daily self-care routine. I've found since using it at night before I go to bed, it's really helped my sleep. Not so much getting to sleep, but I find I'm sleeping more deeply and it really helps send me off into a deep slumber. I feel a lot more awake when I get up and energised, ready to take on the day.

I'm excited to continue to use it as part of a daily care routine and see how I can get the balance right for me.

Review: Dermavive CBD moisturiser | Gifted

Well hello to you my reader chums! The talk of CBD has been circulated for a while now and the benefits seemed endless that when Nutrivive got in touch about trialling their moisturiser for a review, I was intrigued, to say the least.

I've been using the moisturiser for a few weeks now and I can say, I'm very impressed by it and love that its part of my skincare routine.

Review: Dermavive CBD moisturiser

What is Dermavive?

The Dermavive moisturiser is infused with cannabidiol and aims to reduce the appearance of irritation, de-stress the senses and calm the look of skin. It's rich in essential omega-6 and omega-3 acids and is non-intoxicating. And, the best part for me is it's vegan, cruelty-free and sustainable.

Packaging and scent

The moisturiser comes in what feels like quite a heavy container that is similar to glass with a shiny silver lid and is also a screw-on top. It has pretty simple branding running across which highlights the luxury look of the product.

The scent is probably my least favourite part of the product as it's quite an unusual and lingering scent. It reminds of me of when you open a pack of sanitary pads or nappies and that strong, slightly perfumed scent with some baby powder chucked in. It's quite an intense scent that when applied I can smell it for a while until it fully sinks into my skin. The freshness of the scent is probably the best thing about it however, it's very clean.

Texture and feel on the skin

The moisturiser is very thick and I like to dot it all across my face and blend it in. Due to the thickness, it can take a bit of moisturising in to fully sink into the skin. However, the texture of the cream is incredibly soft and blends very smoothly across the face, which I absolutely love. It makes my moisturising routine an enjoyable thing to do as my skin feels really hydrated instantly after it's sunk in.

Review: Dermavive CBD moisturiser

Lasting power

The lasting power is probably my favourite thing about this moisturiser. After applying it, even hours after, my skin still has the same hydrated feel about it and I adore that. Also, I've noticed it really has helped calm my skin down, and since using it, I've had no breakouts at all, even after wearing my mask all the time. I think the lasting effects in terms of what it's doing to my skin is a wonderful thing and I'm glad it's now part of my skincare routine.

Overall thoughts

Overall, I absolutely love this moisturiser. Even though the scent isn't my favourite, I love how hydrating it is on my skin, how it's helping to aid my skin to appear calmer and the texture of the product. It's priced at £39.99 so a higher price point, but considering the thickness of the product and the lasting effect, it's a luxury moisturiser worth the investment.

I hope you enjoyed this review. Have you tried CBD products?

Review: Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask

Well hello to you my reader chums! I've been obsessed with Lush's facemasks for years and most things I've tried from Lush. It's certainly been the brand of the beauty community since I began blogging and a brand I'll continue to use in years to come. This time of year, my Lush obsession comes out in full force as it's the season where I'll take lots of baths, utilise pamper nights a bit more and moisturise heavily.

I used to be obsessed with both the 'Brazened Honey' and the 'Cupcake' mask, however, on my last trip to lush I wanted to try the 'Catastrophe Cosmetic' mask out. My skin had been breaking out lately and I thought this can be the mask to sort it out, or at least calm it in some way. I've heard a lot of good things about this mask and wanted to see if it was worth the hype.

Review: Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask

What is the Catastrophe Cosmetic mask?

The Catastrophe Cosmetic is designed as a calming and moisturising mask. It's packed with plenty of fresh ingredients including calamine, antioxidant blueberries and balancing rose. The mask is ideal for those with sensitive skin and needs a little help feeling balanced and mattified.

Texture and scent

All Lush facemasks are designed to be kept in the fridge, that's the beauty of them and it adds to the texture when they're applied. This mask, in particular, is blue in colour and slightly abrasive as it's swept onto the skin. It's also really cool in temperature which adds to the lovely sensation of application. The texture is firm but soft enough to spread over the skin.

The scent of the mask I would describe as fresh with an underlying smell of blueberries and fruit. It also has a subtle rose tone flowing through it which is ever so moreish.

How it feels on the skin

The mask is like heaven on my skin. I like to leave the mask on for a good fifteen minutes to give the full effect. When it's on my skin, it's so light and the fresh scent lingers under my nose that I can't help but love it.

Lasting effects of the mask

Once I wash off the mask, my skin instantly feels incredibly soft, replenished and moisturised. It's the perfect pick me up on a day when my skin hasn't been feeling the best. I found the results to be even better when I used it at least twice a week, and it gave me the opportunity to have more time for my skincare.

Review: Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask

Overall thoughts

Overall, I absolutely adore this mask and would highly recommend giving it a go if your skin needs a little boost at the minute. It's become my favourite mask out of all the ones I use and I'll definitely be repurchasing again and again when it runs out.

I hope you enjoyed this post. What's your favourite face mask?

Autumn fashion and beauty staples

Well hello to you my reader chums! Autumn is well and truly here. As much as I'm a summer baby, there's something about autumn that warms my heart. The oversized jumpers, cosy nights in, neverending cups of hot chocolate, the lead up to Christmas, and dark lipstick screams autumn in so many ways.

With a change in season, means a change in how I dress and the products I reach for more often. Here is a look at my autumn fashion and beauty staples. *This post features gifted products and affiliate links.*

Autumn fashion and beauty staples

Oversized jumpers

I have the biggest jumper collection ever and when autumn strikes, I love having the chance to sift through and rock some of my favourite jumpers - and add a couple more to the collection. Nothing can beat, chucking on a huge jumper with jeans and boots. It's cosy, it looks super cute and I just love them. I especially love any jumpers of autumn colours; browns, oranges, mustards etc.

Blanket scarves

You won't find me rocking an autumn outfit without a blanket scarf. I like to wrap it around my neck, use it as some sort of cover on my shoulders or actually use them to warm my legs up when I'm in the office. They're such a simple accessory but can easily make a statement, especially if I'm wearing a monochrome outfit; the scarf can add that pop of colour.

Rings

I've never been someone who has been a jewellery person, however, it's something recently, I'm trying to work on more to accessorise my outfits properly. As in autumn, my arm and neck area is usually covered my jumpers, scarved or coats, it's not the season for bracelets and necklaces - but rather for earrings and rings.

Autumn fashion and beauty staples

I've been gifted the most beautiful ring from Daisy Jewellery and it's become my new favourite accessory. It's a silver ring with the daisies all around it. The ring adds the subtlest bit of colour to my hands and pairs really well with my Pandora ring. I also love how it's not too over the top in design, the simplicity bodes with my style really well.

Body Shop's pear hand cream

I get the driest hands as soon as the colder weather comes around and that means my stash of hand creams are dug out. My favourite hand creams are the Body Shop. I've used their hand creams religiously for years and my favourite has to be their pear one. When they launched it last year, I bought loads of tubes and will be continuously carrying one in my handbag.

Dr Paw Paw balm

I've loved Dr Paw Paw for years. It's the most natural balm I could ever use and I love how it can be used to moisturise all over the body. I like to use it on my lips the most as it's the only product I've found which really moisturises my lips, especially when they're chapped. The balm has no scent, has the silkiest texture on my lips and the soft feeling lasts forever.

Autumn fashion and beauty staples

Like It On Top, Lip Scrub Protection

My lips get really chapped when the weather is colder and having a good lip scrub is the perfect remedy for that. I recently received this scrub in my Roccabox and I've fallen in love with it. The scrub has the most beautiful lemon scent and when I scrub my lips, it's literally like putting a lemon cake all over my lips. It's yummy, scrubs well and the scent is to die for.

Red and berry lipsticks

Autumn means my favourite lipstick season. I absolutely love to wear a pop of colour on my lips when the cooler weather hits. It's the best way to dress up an outfit and really adds something to a neutral makeup look. My favourite red lipsticks are Nars 'Cruella' and Mac's 'Russian Red' and I love Mac's 'Diva' as my favourite berry tone.

I hope you enjoyed this post. What are your autumn staples?

Roccabox review | Gifted

Well hello to you my reader chums! There's nothing I love more than trying out new beauty products and those products turning into one of my everyday staples. I've always seen beauty boxes floating around on my Instagram feed and still remember the days when Birchbox was all the rave. When I saw about Roccabox and they got in touch and gifted me a box, I couldn't have been more excited to see what was going to come through the door.

Roccabox's founder came up with the idea of the box as a purse-friendly way for women alike to enjoy a variety of luxury products every month on their doorstep. I love the premise behind it and feel grateful to have the opportunity to sample the box.

Roccabox review | Gifted

I received the September box which is all based around the idea of 'being a boss' and I resonate with so well. The box was filled with an abundance of goodies and there was a bit of everything on offer. It definitely screamed autumn with the choice of products including a warm-toned eye shadow palette, red lip colour and lip scrub.

Box subscription service

I was lucky enough to be gifted the box, however, I've had a look on their website to give you an insight into how their subscription service works. You're able to buy the box per month, buy 3 months, 6 months or 12 months worth all at once, and I love that they're able to give that sort of option. The boxes are £10 plus postage and honestly, for what you can get in these boxes, it's a no brainer. It's the price of a couple of coffees at Starbucks - and I think it's a much better use of your money as it'll give you a little boost each month. I also love how you're able to send it as a gift as it's one of those types of presents which really offer that 'self-care' element.

Roccabox review | Gifted

What's included in the Rocca Box

STYLondon Devil Velvet Touch Eyeshadow Palette RRP: £15 - The palette had to be my favourite item in the box. I'm obsessed with autumnal coloured shadows such as copper/orange/red tones and this palette ticks all those boxes. I used it the other night and the pigmentation and blending ability is like a dream. I can't wait to make more use of it with the upcoming autumn months.

Like It On Top, Lip Scrub Protection RRP: £11.75 - My lips are notoriously known for getting super dry in the colder months (as I'm sure are a lot of others) so this lip scrub came at the right time with the colder weather fast approaching. I've used it once and honestly, I'm addicted to the scent. It smells like a fresh lemon cake and is super fruity, plus it scrubs on like a dream and also tastes yummy.

Douvalls Lip and Cheek Colour in shade 'Sweet Love RRP £16 - I'm a sucker for any new lip product and this one is super lovely. If you're interested in a small pop of colour that still looks natural, this is for you. The product is incredibly soft on the lips and has the perfect level of colour to it. 'Sweet Love' is the faintest red colour and the lovely shade for the transition into autumn,

Brushworks HD Eye Brush RRP £5.99 - You can never have too many makeup brushes and I think this is a fab addition to the box. It's the perfect brush to push shadow under the waterline and is thin enough to do it precisely.

Roccabox review | Gifted

Oh K! Pomegranate Sculpting Tech Neck Mask RRP £7 - The box also included a neck maks which isn't something I've actually heard of before. I'm a lover of face masks and have heard about foot masks, but this has not been on my radius. I'm excited to give it a go and I'll let you know my thoughts then.

Caleno Drinks RRP £18 - The last item in the box is described as an 'extra gift' and is a non-alcoholic spirit. I think this is the perfect addition to the whole self love and boss vibe as it's a little treat to enjoy alongside all your other products.

Overall thoughts

Overall, I'm in love with the idea of the Roccabox and was very impressed with the range of products I've received in my box - and the level of quality they were at. I can certainly see why they have many subscribers as it's a beautiful gift to receive in the post each month.

I hope you enjoyed this review. Have you tried the Roccabox?

Eco-friendly changes I've made to my beauty routine

Well hello to you my reader chums! If you've been following me for a while then you'd know I've been actively trying to make more eco-friendly choices in my day to day life. Beauty products are something I undoubtedly use every day and over these past few months, I've been researching and trialling which products are eco-friendly - and how I can implement them in my routine.

I've not changed everything and I'm nowhere near being the perfect eco-friendly blogger in any way, however, here are a few products I now use and am absolutely obsessed with.

This post contains affiliate links.

Eco-friendly changes I've made to my beauty routine

Shampoo and conditioner bars

Out of the whole list, these are something I've used for over a year and really don't see myself going back to normal shampoo any time soon. Shampoo and conditioner bars are revolutionary and probably my favourite thing in my bathroom product-wise. I use the ones from Lush cosmetics but I'm pretty sure many eco-friendly sites sell other alternatives.

Shampoo bars last incredibly longer than regular shampoo, they're easy to use, reusable and simple to travel with (ideal for me.) And of course, they're massively eco-friendly as they have no waste to them whatsoever. Lush offer a whole range of different flavours and only a little lather of the bar can go a long way.

Reusable cotton pads

Since using these, it makes me question why I didn't start sooner. I've got the Bambaw bamboo reusable cotton pads but they're a whole range of different reusable ones out there. They do what's in the name, you can use them time and time again. After use, I pop them in the washing bag provided with the cotton pads and once the bag is full, I put it in with my regular washing to make them like new to use again.

It's simple and easy - and even though it's a bit of a long process to clean cotton pads, I know what I'm putting on my skin is soft, eco-friendly and that the pads will last for a long time. The pads do the job as effectively as disposable cotton pads and they're super cute.

Wild Deodorant

I recently was gifted a Wild deodorant and wrote a full review of my experience with it. I do absolutely love it to say the least. It's a refillable deodorant with decomposable pods and it's super easy to use.

The deodorant itself is gentle on the skin and doesn't contain any aluminium which gives me the assurance that I'm putting the right products onto my skin. As it comes with its own case, everything you buy additionally to that is eco-friendly and decomposable - and you can sign up to the monthly service to make it easier for yourself to buy. You can use my code 'DELLA10' for 10% off.

Organicup

I have also now become a menstrual cup convert which is a sentence I never thought I would write. I was an avid sanitary pad user for years and the thought of using a menstrual cup terrified me. However, after trialling the Organicup for a few months, I don't know how or why I lived without one for so long.

Once I got comfortable with the process of putting it in and taking it out, I fell in love with the idea of using it. I'm able to keep it in for up to 12 hours, I can't feel it when it's in and I have the assurance of knowing it's made of organic materials. Also, even though it's a little pricier than your typical pads and tampons, over the course of a few months, it's a lot more cost-effective as I use it over and over again.

Callaly period products

Before I dabbled into the world of the Organicup, I religiously used the Callaly period subscription service. I began looking for other eco-friendly options and this was one of them, offering products made of organic and compostable materials.

If you don't want to convert to the menstrual cup or find it's not for you then services like Callay are the perfect alternative. Each month you're able to customise which sanitary products your monthly box includes depending on your flow and you can set it for the same date tor receive it every month. Plus, when I used these products, they honestly felt so much more natural than over perfumed pads I've used prior.

Green Planet Beauty Skincare

I've recently discovered Green Planet Beauty after receiving a gift set from my sister. The brand is vegan, plastic-free, completely natural and offer the option to refill products. I adore everything about the brand's ethics and the products are some of the best I've ever used. Check out my full review here.

Eco-friendly changes I've made to my beauty routine

Estrid razor

I had never heard of a vegan razor before Estrid got in touch, however, I'm so glad I now have it in my hands. The Estrid razor glides like a dream when I shave and is honestly the softest shave I've ever experienced. It comes with a super cute wall stand for the razor, I love the mantra behind the brand and it's vegan - so really, the perfect step to dabble into eco-conscious razors. And, you can pick the colour!

LastSwab

One weird thing about me is I love cotton swabs and cleaning out my ears even though I know you're not meant to do it often. However, I'm fully aware that cotton buds are one of the worst things for the environment like wipes as they do not decompose. With that in mind, when I saw the LastSwab advertised I had to give it a go.

Now, I'm able to use the swab for all its needs, give it a wash and reuse it over and over again.

Magnitone wipeout cloth

The last product is something I have been gifted years ago but still love to this day. The Magnitone wipeout cloth is designed to wipe off makeup with only water and the best thing about it: it's the softest cloth to do so. And, you can rewash it as many times as possible like a flannel.

I hope you enjoyed this post. What other eco-friendly beauty products would you recommend?

FulviSafe hand sanitizer and barrier cream review | AD

Well hello to you my reader chums! Considering what's going on in the world at the minute, using hand sanitizer has become an everyday activity. I've always been a bit of a hand sanitizer weirdo, so in a weird way, I'm kind of liking everyone jumping onto the hand gel hype. When FulviSafe got in touch to trial out and review their hand sanitizer range, I jumped at the chance as I'm always keen to see which other ones are available.

What is FulviSafe?

FulviSafe is a hygiene product range designed to cleanse and protect hands from viruses and bacteria and kill 99.9% of germs with no alcohol ingredient. Their products include a hand sanitizer and barrier cream and are safe to use on all the family, even for small children. The main ingredient is Carbohydrate Derived Fulvic Acid and is clinically proven to kill germs effectively as alcohol-based sanitizers.

Hand Sanitizer

Packaging

The hand sanitizer's packaging is simple and the perfect size to take on the go. It has a secure cap that kept leakage to a minimum. There's not much I can really say about the packaging but I love how it's small enough to use in my hand luggage at the airport - and in any small bag.

Scent and texture

I have to admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of the scent when I first used the sanitizer as it's quite unusual. However, it's a thousand times better than the typical alcohol-based sanitizer scent. It reminds me of quite a musky, wooden scent and is similar to polish. It's a very distinctive scent that after a while, I got immune to.

The texture of the sanitizer is my favourite thing about it. It is a water-like texture in appearance and once applied, feels like a gel-like consistency on the skin. It sinks into the skin super quickly and my hands feel really moisturised and clean after use. I'm in love with how quick it's able to dry and how it also doubles up as feeling like a moisturiser, rather than drying out my hands.

Lasting effects

The hand sanitizer scent lingers on the skin for a while and after it has sunk into the skin, my hands stay soft for a long time. Even when I use it multiple times, my hands still feel incredibly soft as if I've applied lotion, rather than hand gel.

Comparison to other hand sanitizers

I'm definitely converted to this brand compared to other hand sanitizers. During this time, I've been using a lot of different sanitizers, and often than not, they always leave my hands feeling dry or sticky. However, FulviSafe is nothing like that - it's moisturising, smooth and my hands aren't left feeling uncomfortably sticky (basically a win, win.)

FulviSafe hand sanitizer and barrier cream review | AD

Barrier cream

Scent and texture

I also got gifted the barrier cream to review and honestly, I'm in love with it. It's designed to use as both a hand sanitizer and moisturiser (which is basically my idea of heaven). The scent of the cream is similar to the sanitizer but slightly more toned down and has the same lingering element.

The texture is beautiful. If you think of a dreamy hand lotion texture, this is it. The cream is really soft in texture, blends easily and dries really quickly, which means no stickiness whatsoever. The scent lingers on my hands for ages afterwards and I can't help but think it makes my hands even cleaner.

Overall thoughts on the cream

The cream is a brilliant asset to your typical hand sanitizer as it's lightweight, quick to use, smells lovely and lasts for ages.

The FulviSafe hand sanitizer and barrier cream have become my new favourite handbags essentials and it feels good knowing, I'm putting a safe product onto my skin every time I wash my hands. It's easy to use, dries quickly and really effective.

Wild natural deodorant review | Gifted

Well hello to you my reader chums! I have said for a long time and in many blog posts, that I'm trying to make more ethical and sustainable choices in my everyday life. I've come across many products since making that choice and one of them is the Wild refillable deodorant. I was so thankful and excited when I got gifted this deodorant - and I can't wait to share my thoughts with you.

Wild natural deodorant review | Gifted

The concept

I've never heard of this kind of deodorant before it landed on my doorstep. Previously, I've seen eco deodorants but nothing like this. Wild is a refillable deodorant. The deodorant comes in the post with a case and the option to refill it with compostable refills.

I love the concept behind it as I'll always have a case to carry around,  there is no waste involved and you can refill the deodorant with a variety of different scents.

Price

With any good quality product, the price is a little more expensive and that goes with Wild, however, it's completely worth it. I have the assurance of knowing I'm putting a natural product on my skin and it's good for the planet. It's not as cheap as your high street deodorant, but worthwhile in the long run for different reasons, and if you like a little splurge, it's the perfect product.

The starter kit is £12 for 1 case, 1 refill, and joining their subscription service. The one off-purchase has a case and 3 refills for £25 or there's the option of 1 case with 5 refills for £35.

Wild also gave me a code of  'Della10' which will give you 10% off your order.

Packaging

The kit that I received came in a cardboard box which easily slotted into my letterbox and contained the deodorant case and its refill. It's presented in a compact way, and the actual case is super cute. It looks pretty, better than your usual deodorant design, it's the right size to bring on the go but also contains enough product to last a long time.

The scent and texture

Going onto the actual product, I absolutely love it. The deodorant can come in a range of scents and I chose 'Coconut dream.' I'm a big lover of coconut fragrances as it reminds me of a holiday so I thought it was the perfect match. The actual scent is very subtle but has the flavour of coconut running through giving it the apt name. I like that the scent is subtle though because that way I have the assurance of knowing it's a natural product for my skin and is aluminium free.

The texture is different from my usual roll-on deodorant. Unlike usual roll-ons, it's not wet in any way and I don't need to leave time for it to dry. Instead, the texture is wax-like, similar to a solid shampoo which you need to work into the skin, rub it in slightly and allow it to settle in. I like that as again, it feels natural and it's perfect if I'm in a rush as there's no 'waiting for it to dry' timeframe needed.

Lasting power

Considering the different texture of the deodorant, I was pretty nervous about how the deodorant would play out in the day, especially with the hot weather we've had lately. However, after trialling it and getting used to the best way to apply it, for instance, I can honestly say it lasts as long as a usual deodorant.

Overall thoughts

Overall, I've fallen in love with the Wild way of life. The product is of great quality, it's natural, eco-friendly and I love the application/lasting power. It may be on the pricier side, however, the quality and overall experience of the product makes up for that.

If you're interested in trialling out Wild deodorant, use my code 'Della10' for 10% off online.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Have you tried any exciting eco-friendly products lately?

Current favourite skincare products and routine

Well hello to you my reader chums! I'm not the biggest skincare guru in any sense and it's not something, I've taken the time with other the years, however, I've now turned more attention to a routine. I was always that girl, who would wipe off my makeup, cleanse and moisturise, and that's about it. I'm very lucky in the fact I've always had nice and normal skin, and it wasn't an issue for me growing up.

However, blogging about beauty, I have dabbled into a lot of different skincare over the years, trialling out various products and see how they work for me. I've finally got to the stage in life where I've found a routine I love, with products that are equally as great.

AD- This post contains affiliate links and a paid link insertion.

The past few months, my skin has been flaring up and I think it was due to stress, hormones and honestly, my diet. Using these products that I'm about to mention has put things back at bay and given me a routine I'm excited to use on a daily basis.
Current favourite skincare products and routine

Embryolisse foaming cream-milk cleanser

The first part of my morning routine is to use a cleanser and my go-to is the Embryolisse foaming cream-milk cleanser. I got gifted this a while back and fell in love with it since the first use. The cleanser's consistency is really thick and you only need a little as it lathers up like an absolute dream. The product feels incredibly soft on the skin, washes away easily and leaves my skin feeling ultra-smooth.

I love the fresh scent it has and the luxurious feel of the product. You can find my full review here.

Embroyolisse Lait-Crème Concentrate

After cleansing, I love to give my skin a rich moisturise and find the matching moisturiser to the cleanser does the trick. I was also gifted this product a while back and couldn't be more thankful. The product is incredibly thick and leaves my skin feeling really nourished. Despite the thick consistency, it blends into the skin incredibly quick and honestly, I'm obsessed.

Superdrug Vitamin E serum

If my skin is feeling a little drier than usual or I fancy an extra step in my morning routine, I'll add a serum after the moisturiser. I love Superdrug's Vitamin E range; all the products I've used have done the job - and they're so affordable. I particularly love the serum as it smells divine (like coconuts) and blends on the skin so easily.

Zelens Daily Defence SPF

Call me naive, but I only learnt that you need to apply SPF separately to moisturiser onto the skin as the SPF in moisturiser/foundations isn't as effective. With that, I was straight on Cult Beauty and bought myself the Zelens Daily Defence.

I've used this every day for the past few weeks after moisturising and before makeup application and I love it. Despite the small bottle, the product comes out pretty thick, and I only need the smallest amount to go across my face.

Garnier's Micellar water

At the end of the day, its time for makeup removal and my staple product has been Garnier's Micellar water for years and years. I don't use it all the time now, however, it's an easy fix to taking off makeup. Makeup removes like a dream, and I love to use my reusable cotton pads to wipe it off with. You really can't go wrong with micellar water!

The Ordinary Squareline cleanser

I've heard too many good things about The Ordinary products and after getting my hands on one of their cleansers, I can see why. I've been using the Squareline cleanser as a makeup remover and cleanser. Most days in lockdown I haven't been wearing makeup so I can cleanse and carry on with the rest of my routine. However, on the days I have been wearing makeup, I like to use this to wash it off with and then cleanse again.

The product itself is heavy in consistency and once warmed within my hands, it easily rubs into the skin for a deep cleanse. I apply it onto dry skin and wash it off with warm water. It's really easy to take off and I've found is actually a pretty good makeup remover as well (bearing in mind, I only wear light makeup.)

Pixi Glow Tonic and Pixi Retinol Tonic

The Pixi tonics have been raved about on the internet and beauty community for the longest time - and it's taken me until now to give them a go. I can completely get the hype as I've fallen in love with these products.

As my skin had been playing up, I was recommended to try the Glow Tonic and the Retinol Tonic and use them on alternate days - and so far, it's done the trick. My skin has improved a lot! I like to apply each tonic on either a cotton pad or cotton ball and sweep it all over the skin. This may sound weird, but when it's sinking into the skin, it really feels like it's doing something.

I'll then go in and moisturise again to complete my nighttime routine.

Korean Skincare

I've heard a lot of good things about Korean Skincare and all the benefits it can do for your skin. I love K Beauty because it offers a range of different Korean Skincare products from face masks to moisturisers and they're all of top quality for my skin. And, the beauty of Korean skincare is to get to know your skin and care for it, according to its condition. I can't wait to try more of the products!

I hope you enjoyed a little insight into my favourite skincare products at the minute. What products have you been using?

My Organicup experience and review

Well hello to you my reader chums! Something I've tried to do recently is to implement a more eco-friendly lifestyle in my day to day life by investing in reusable products and doing my bit for the environment. One of the ways to do this was utilise the organic and eco-friendly period products out there like the Organicup.

I've heard a lot about menstrual cups and been wanting to try one for so long but always been really worried about the idea of it and what it entails. However, I thought I would take the leap and give it a go as I've heard so many positive things, and wanted to see what the hype was about. My best friend and I did it together to give each other the confidence in doing so - and I'm so glad we did.

My Organicup experience and review

Using it for the first time

It's safe to say that I was a little overwhelmed when I first attempted to use the menstrual cup. I've never been one for tampons and always used pads so doing that jump was kind of intimidating, to say the least.

First things first, I had to sterilise the cup which I did for 3-5 minutes in boiling water and also bought myself some lube (as it's recommended for your first try.) I read the instructions far too many times before I even attempted to use it and learnt that there were two different folds, the C fold, and the punch-down fold. Find more info about this on their website. I tried to use the punch-down fold as it makes the top of the cup smaller for insertion.

It took a few attempts to essentially put it in place but after failing a couple of times, I was able to secure it. I found the lube and relaxing really did help insertion become a lot easier.

It took multiple times to get used to the idea of inserting the cup and I just want to put it out there, I did not get it straight away - so don't be disheartened if you don't either. Once I got over the motion of putting it in and taking it out, I felt more comfortable with the whole process. They do say it takes around 3 cycles until you're fully comfortable with the process - and I can see why. It's only on the second cycle that I fully got used to it and felt comfortable going out and about with it in - and placed it correctly that there were no leaks.

Comfort and wear throughout the day

On the first day, I trialled it, initially, I couldn't help but notice it was there if that makes sense. However, once I was distracted, I didn't feel a thing and paid no attention whatsoever which I can really appreciate.

It did leak the first few times I used it as I didn't insert it correctly and allowed for the air bubbles to have a gap which gives it room to leak - if that makes sense.

It's not like pads or tampons where you need to be aware to check and change them as I had the security knowing it would last for up to 12 hours in the day. On heavier flow days, I did take it out once or twice just to double-check if it needs emptying or not, and for the most part, it was usually half full or a quarter of the way. It was easier to clean; I could either pour it out and rinse it in the sink or use the Organiwipes you can purchase with the cup.

When I felt comfortable with it in and secured it correctly, I didn't have to worry and I had the ease of getting on with my day.

Views compared to pads/tampons

Genuinely, I already prefer it to disposable pads or tampons for so many different reasons. Firstly, it's environmentally friendly and I'm able to reuse to for years and that means I'll save so much in the long run with the costs of sanitary products.

I love that it has a 12-hour leeway as I'm able to go out about my day and not even think about my period like I would using other products - and I can appreciate that it's all organically made so I'm not putting any chemicals in my body.

Although the process of inserting it and cleaning it is a little longer than using pads/tampons, all the other positives outweigh that completely. I think now I'm getting confident with it, I've been converted to the cup way of life.

Overall thoughts

Overall, I'm impressed with the menstrual cup and after getting over the initial worries and figuring out how to use it, I really like it. I like how it's sustainable, how long it can be left in for, and how it can literally last for years.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Have you used a menstrual cup?

Estrid razor review | gifted

Well hello to you my reader chums! I never really thought much about my shaving experience before, it was just one of those things I got on with. However, when I frequently saw the brand Estrid pop up on social media, I was intrigued about it. Not only did the razors look incredibly cute, but they were also vegan and aimed at the hair removal process to be a pain-free experience.

When Estrid contacted and said they were going to send over a starter kit, I was thrilled to try it out and see if their dreamy Insta feed was as good as the products. (Spoiler alert, it was.)

Estrid razor review | gifted

What is Estrid?

Estrid is a vegan razor brand that aims to change the shaving game and focuses on the idea of your body, your control. I resonated with their mantra a lot and really appreciated how they were all about self-love and a female first razor brand.

Predominately, the world of shaving is designed for men and most female razors do not work as well and are pretty naff - and that's why Estrid has put their stamp on the market: to make shaving pain-free and affordable.

They also don't use any animal products in their razors making them a vegan-friendly brand.

Packaging/ Starter Kit

I'm trying to actively be a little eco-conscious with my day to day life that when I received the box to the razor, I was very impressed. It was packaged in a cardboard box and all the components in cardboard type bags, rather than using plastic.

The starter kit included my razor (I chose the lilac one), a spare blade, a razor holder, and an information pack about the brand/razor. It was put together simply and with all the information I needed.

My experience using the razor

I cannot rave about this razor enough. I didn't realise how before using this, I've been shaving with terrible razors that didn't do nearly as good as the job and were painful a lot of the time.

The Estrid razor is designed with 5 blades and has aloe vera and vitamin E on the cartridge to offer the smoothest and comfortable shave. When I first used it, I was taken aback by how smooth the razor glided up my leg and how lovely it felt on the skin. I shaved with ease, without any worry of cutting myself or missing a bit. It's honestly that lovely and kind of makes me not hate the effort of shaving.

Estrid razor review | gifted

I also want to talk about the idea of the razor holder. I love this, as I'm able to hook my razor in the bathroom and pick it up with ease and place it back down. It's convenient and adds a little cuteness to my bathroom.

Price

Considering how much money I've spent on razors over the years and having to throw them away quickly, I've probably wasted a lot of money on razors which don't do the job. The Estrid starter kit is £7.95 which includes a razor, its holder, and a spare cartridge - and considering the quality and weight of the razor, it's a good price. I would say Estrid is more of an investment for yourself and body-care routine as I know I'm using a product that'll be nice to my skin.

Overall thoughts

I really love the focus on the mantra behind this brand and how they talk about self-love and putting your body first, and taking back the control, society tries to take away from us. They wanted to be seen as a brand that is raw and real, for all women, not something 'perfect' like other razor brands I have come across.

Estrid razor review | gifted

The razor has become my new favourite thing. I love the colour and design, I love how easy and gentle it is to use and I love how good quality the product feels.

Thank you to Estrid for sending over a starter kit and introducing me to your brand!

Also, when purchasing an Estrid razor, if you use the code 'EQUALITY' at the checkout, Estrid will donate 1€ extra for every purchase with that code to the organisation Fawcett Society.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Have you heard of Estrid?

Review: Embryolisse foaming cream-milk cleanser *gifted*

Well hello to you my reader chums! It's been a long while since I've written a beauty review and I really miss it. When I started this blog, beauty was my main focus and I'd love to rekindle that a bit by sharing more reviews and other makeup style posts.

Review: Embryolisse foaming cream-milk cleanser *gifted*

Something I've been trying to do a lot more is taking the time to focus on my skincare and that begins with a good cleanser. I got sent this recently and it came at the right time as I was looking to try a new cleanser out so this was the perfect opportunity.

I hadn't heard of the brand Embryolisse before receiving this product so did a bit of research before I trialled it out. The brand came about in the 1950s in Paris when a dermatologist who specialised in skin diseases created the famous Milk-Cream Concentrate product.

After using this product for a few weeks, I've become to love it and it's become one of my top products to use - and here are my overall thoughts:

Packaging and design

I'm no expert when it comes to product design or anything like that but I always judge a product on how it looks and how it is presented. My first impression of this product is that it looks sleek and simple and easy to use - basically everything you need.

Consistency and scent

I find with a cleanser, consistency is key. The consistency of this cleanser is a thick liquid and lathers up like an absolute dream. As it lathers up so easily, I only need the smallest amount to wash my face with and it literally lasts forever. The scent has that fresh smell you get in spas and isn't overly fragranced which I can appreciate.

How it feels on the skin

I can't rave enough about how this product feels on the skin! It's incredibly soft and gentle and as you rub it in, it'll lather up more and feel really smooth. It sounds strange but I really enjoy washing my face with this product as it has that luxurious feel to it. Once it's all been washed off, my skin feels fully cleansed, hydrated and so soft - I love it!

Review: Embryolisse foaming cream-milk cleanser *gifted*

Results

I've been using this product for a few weeks now and wanted to give a little insight to the difference it has made in my skin. I'm not sure if it's down to this product alone, but I've noticed my skin has been a lot clearer and hydrated since using this and it feels really healthy.

Overall thoughts

Overall, I fell in love with this cleanser and to be honest, I probably wouldn't have shared it with you guys if I didn't. It's retailed at £14 and worth every penny. The product itself feels more of the luxury end, it's left my skin feeling like a dream and I love to use it as part of my daily skincare routine. You can purchase the cleanser here.

I hope you enjoyed this post. What skincare products are you using at the minute?
