October favourites ❤️

Well hello to you my reader chums! With October now coming to a close, it's time to share all the products I've been enjoying throughout the past month. Is it just me or did October just fly by? Christmas is drawing nearer and I can't wait till all the festivities begin! Evenings are becoming cosier and colder but with the promise of winter quite soon, I'm pretty excited.

Lets get into the favourites, here's an overview of all the items:

The first favourite of mine has to be berry lips. For me this is one of the many reasons I love Autumn so much as you can whip out every berry lipstick in sight. In particular I've been recently loving is the very hyped Mac's 'Diva'. I purchased this at the end of September after it being on my wishlist for the longest time and I must admit it lived up to every expectation. The colour pigmentation itself is absolutely gorgeous, I would describe it as a dark, vampy burgundy. In terms of lasting power, it's a lengthy, long wearing product. I could put it on at the beginning of an evening and when I got back home it would still be on my lips with minor wear marks due to drinking/eating. Even though its a matte shade, the lipstick isn't drying and holds a rather creamy consistency that when applied feels luscious on the lips. I completely and utterly adore it, where it's definitely become one of my go to berry lipsticks!

Another favourite of mine has been this Aquis towel. Now you may think isn't that a pretty random thing to put into your favourites post? This towel however, is designed as a hair wrap, aiding your hair to dry naturally without any heat use. I have to admit before I began using this, I would just leave my hair to air dry, sleeping on it when it was quite damp. Yet once my hair has been washed, I'll now towel dry it a tad, wrap this up and the leave it till it's completely dry. Usually prior to using the head wrap, my hair would be rather tangly and knotty in the mornings, yet now there's a complete difference; I wake up to my hair feeling much smoother, softer and easier to brush. It's honestly made a real difference as my hair as a whole feels healthier.

When it comes to applying makeup, I like to change up techniques from time to time. Real techniques are my favourite brushes and for the past few weeks, to apply concealer I've been reaching for my contour brush which I typically use for highlighting. However, I found it to be a dream to blend under eye concealer because its the perfect size to get into that area on my face and is incredibly soft, not tugging on the sensitive skin under my eyes.

Another item I've been loving lately is the Zoella beauty 'Blissful mistful'spray. I purchased this last year when her first range came out and absolutely adored the scent of all the products. To me they smell rather similar to Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' which is my favourite scent. I found that over the past few weeks, Zoella's body mist has become my go to everyday perfume choice. It isn't too heavy or overpowering as its designed to be a mist, however the scent lasts well and I genuinely love it. The packaging is super sweet as well!

The last makeup product is the Sleek Faceform kit in 'Light'. This is a very old favourite of mine which I always go back to. I've been loving the combination of the blush and highlight in this palette with contoured cheeks as it gives the full contour and highlight effect, lifting up my cheekbones. The highlighting shade is rather subtle, adding that slight shimmer when the light hits and the blush enhances the natural colour on the apples of the cheeks. Therefore when paired, its not too over dramatic, yet gives a gorgeous natural looking highlight. I've been wearing my Estee Lauder bronzer with this duo as its more warm toned than the bronzer in the palette.

Lastly, one of my top things this month has been reading. On a chilly evening, there's nothing more perfect than wrapping up with a good book. Over the past few weeks, I've been reading 'The girl on the train' and I have to say it was absolutely remarkable. I loved every single word and how it grabbed you, enticing you to read more. The plot line is faultless and the way the story was conveyed is so gripping you never want to put the book down. As soon as I picked it up I was hooked and would recommend it to any book enthusiasts out there. It certainly lived up to the best seller status and all the adoring reviews I've heard. Since I loved it that much, I've passed it onto my best friend so she can read it, hence why it's not pictured in the main October favourites image. I would go on to tell you what the book is about but I don't want to ruin it for any of you. I have to say I haven't read many thriller type novels, yet this book is definitely up there with the best I've ever read!
Utterly flawless and a must read.

I hope you enjoyed my October favourites. What things have you been enjoying over the past month?

The perfect autumn evening in ❤️

Well hello to you my reader chums! Autumn is the time for not only leaves falling off the trees, Christmas preparations commencing or the layering fashion, but when the cosy evenings can well and truly begin. With chillier evenings amongst us, sometimes rather than venturing to a restaurant or night out with your best friends, a comfy evening in is just as enjoyable and usually costs less, saving your pennies for the festive season.

Either spent on your own or with your closest pals, an evening in cosying up, watching films and munching on lots of treats is the best combination for a good time.

I've put together some of my favourite things to do on this type of evening as you can see below:

First thing first, when the weather is cold outside, preparing a hot chocolate and cuddling up in a blanket is a must. My go to choice is definitely a Nutella number with a dash of cinnamon on the top! It's simple and quick to make, simply heat up a cup of milk and swirl several spoons of Nutella in to create the mouthwatering goodness!

If its an evening on your own, having a dip in a beautifully scented bath is just heavenly. I chose Lush's frozen bath bomb this time as it looks and smells gorgeous. Taking some time laying there with your thoughts away from a constantly beeping iPhone, allows your mind to relax and get away from the craziness of everyday life.

Following a bath I love to continue spending time away from my phone/internet to fully relax. Being a bookworm, I find nothing more peaceful than chilling with a book and immersing myself into a story line. Reading has and will always remain one of my favourite activities to unwind.

Instead of a book, films are a fabulous choice especially with friends as you can giggle away together! I chose a selection of my favourite girly movies as these are always the best to watch on a night in with your buddies, munching on a collection of goodies. Ordering a pizza and buying a couple of tubs of ice cream always does the trick!

To complete the night before you head off to bed, I love to do a face mask because not only does it unclog and refresh the skin, its a fun activity to experience with friends or to give yourself a little pamper. My top pick is Lush's 'Brazened honey' because it holds the most delicious scent and really exfoliates the skin.

I hope you enjoyed this small post on my perfect evening in. What are your favourite ways to spend an Autumn night?

Makeup tutorial: Copper eyes and berry lips

Well hello to you my reader chums! With autumn completely among us, I've fully embraced the whole vibe, cosying up in layered clothes and the typical makeup style I adore, which I'm going to share with you today. For this season when the leaves fall off the trees and the weather gets chillier, I love to wear a fuller coverage base, layered with contoured cheeks, copper eyes and my top feature, the beautiful berry lips.

For the complete autumn makeup look, here is my makeup tutorial of copper eyes and berry lips.

In the colder months, I like to wear a higher coverage and prefer to reach for a foundation instead of my usual BB cream. I then pair it with a brightening concealer and set the overall base with powder. For brightening, I like to focus under my eyes because when waking up early in the darkness, I tend to be rather tired, so whacking on some of this surely does the trick!

Base products:

Maybelline's Baby skin primer
Rimmel's Match perfection in shade 'Classic ivory'
Rimmel's Wake me up concealer
Rimmel's Stay matte powder in shade 'Silky beige'

To contour, I love this Estee Lauder number as not only does it help define the cheekbones, it also gives a top bronze glow, perfect now the summer tan has faded. For highlighting, I dust the Sleek blusher over my cheeks and add the creamy shade on the high points of my cheeks and brow bone.

When it comes to brows, I like them to be rather natural and therefore tend to stick with a powder. I've chosen this L'oreal eye shadow which I dust through the sparse areas and finish with a clear gel.

One of my favourite parts of the look has to be the eyes. I love warmer tones for this season especially copper as it reminds me of leaves falling off the trees. I apply 'Amber lights' all over the lids and darken it up with 'Temptation' in the outer corner.

To complete the eyes I use a combination of my favourite eye liner winging it out and mascara. For top lashes I choose the Maybelline one and to lengthen my bottom ones, I pick this sample sized Mac mascara.

The best part of this tutorial for me is certainly the lips. One of my highlights in Autumn has to be berry/burgundy lipsticks, many of which I own! I find that its more acceptable to wear these on a daily basis in the cooler months and that they pair with Autumnal outfits so much better.

Today I picked Mac's Diva, a new addition to my collection I'm very much obsessed with. It's slightly vampier than the usual berry lip yet absolutely gorgeous and I think paired with the copper eyes it goes perfectly, screaming Autumn.

Autumn essentials

Well hello to you my reader chums! With Autumn well and truly among us, it's time to share with you all my beauty and fashion essential items I love in this heart-warming season. Autumn is the time which I adore, where everything becomes that extra bit cosier, nights become longer, leaves fall off the trees and fashion/makeup can be much more daring. Christmas is approaching and the newly found excitement is just beginning!

Here's an overview of all my favourite things:

Jumpers - One of the best things about the weather turning colder is the wrapping up of clothes. I particularly love jumpers because on a cold day inside, there's nothing better than throwing on a comfy jumper and leggings to chill. Or wearing jumpers as part of any look, paired with jeans, cute Chelsea boots and a coat, layering is just fab. I have to be honest and say I own several jumpers in a variety of colours from fitted ones to more baggier options, both of which I love to wear on different occasions. The jumper choice above is a rather recent purchase which to me screams Autumn. It's from H&M, in a burnt orange/rust colour that when paired with navy jeans and brown boots looks like the perfect Autumnal outfit. I find jumpers the quickest clothing item to style as you can put them easily with either trousers or a skirt, choose some shoes and you're ready to go.

Tartan scarfs - Another clothing must in this season is scarfs, in particular tartan ones. I own 4 or 5 different styled tartan print scarfs which I alternate with different looks. Some are quite thin and designed to make an outfit look that extra bit chic, whereas many of the ones I own are rather thick, large enough to be a small blanket! With that extra thickness it helps keep in the heat on those rather chilly Autumn days. I love the layering of scarfs especially the ones in this print, as the colours they usually come in are those typical Autumnal tones or Christmas-esque colours, great for the upcoming excitement.

Berry lips - Probably my most favourite element in this season and that's berry lips. It's safe to say I'm a lipstick addict and one of those beauty lovers which will buy various similar coloured lip products. Out of all dark lips my top colour to go for is berry/burgundy tones as I simply just adore them. I think they compliment my complexion well and add that edge to any makeup look. I like to wear darker lips anyway on evenings out, yet when it hits Autumn I find myself grabbing for those colours more frequently and using them in the day. The options in the image above is the very hyped up Rimmel 107 and a newly addition of Mac's 'Diva' (yes I finally got it!) Even though both the shades are pretty similar, I find 'Diva' is a more vampier, darker option giving more of a purple tone whereas Rimmel's 107 has that slightly more berrier/pinker tone. Both however are absolutely  gorgeous, hold the best pigmentation and last for hours!

Lip balm - A more essential type item for this time of year is most certainly lip balm. I'm one of those people that when the cold hits my lips become incredibly dry. Therefore wherever I go I like to carry a lip balm with me as there's nothing worse than having ultra dry lips. My current favourite is Blistex's intense moisture pick because it has a scent very similar to vicks just not as strong, meaning when applied to the lips it feels like its doing something quickly due to the strength. I think it's best for those who suffer with extra dry lips because it can really aid with healing them.

Hand cream - Alike to my lips, when the cold weather strikes my hands become terribly dry and can crack if not taken care of, therefore a top essential for me is hand cream. I usually alternate between what hand cream I use and at the minute I'm enjoying the notable Soap and Glory's hand food. I bought this in the miniature size so I'm able to carry it with me on the go in case my hands aren't in a good state, I love the scent of this because  it's a blend of sweet and dusky that's not too overpowering. Also, the main thing I like is how its not greasy when applied onto the skin, nor does it take forever to sink in - the best qualities you can find in hand creams!

Bath bombs - My last Autumn essential are simply bath bombs, With colder weather now approaching, there's no better time to arrive home from work, run a lengthy warm bath, pop in a delightful bath bomb and sit back to relax, warming yourself up. Lush are typically my best option when it comes to bath products as there's nothing more luxurious than treating yourself to one of their treasures. I love how you can spend as little as 15 minutes to an hour, delving into an abundance of bubbles and letting your worries just float away! In my opinion it's just a divine way to de-stress an unwind on a chilly evening.

I hope you enjoyed this Autumnal post. What are your essential Autumn clothing or beauty items/tips?

Autumn adventures

Well hello to you my reader chums! As Autumn has now arrived, it's that time of year where all the cosy activities begin and the run up to Christmas commences. Autumn has to be one of my favourite seasons because it's the transition from summer to winter, a time when long days turn into long nights and it becomes a season to experiment with layering fashion, combining a series of darker colours. I love how evenings can be spent tucked up with a good book and hot chocolate or film nights with friends, cosied up in onesies or blankets. The vibe is simply heart-warming, with the nogalistic Christmas preparations starting and the random adventures this season takes us on.

'Best friends make your smile a little bigger, laugh a little louder and life a lot better'

Not the Saturday just gone but the week before I had one of those weekends that was so cherish-able it was something to document on my blog. Even though I see my best friends on a very regular basis ( I work with Chloe and see Danielle a couple of times a week), there's not many occasions where I can just spent the entire weekend purely with them both. This weekend was clearly an exception because we were able to, spontaneously spend some quality time together. On the Saturday we headed up to one of our local shopping areas to look around the shops and see a food festival they had on. During the route home we decided to head to one of our local pubs for a couple of drinks and some food, this however didn't go to plan. We ended up staying there the whole night, having a whale of a time/laugh, meeting new people and chatting the evening away. Since it got so late, we ended up all going back to Danielle's place, having a hilarious sleepover just like the sleepover club, sharing a double bed! Considering we were extremely giggly at this point, we took several pictures, chatted and then fell asleep. The following day led to us going home and meeting up later to see the incredibly sad 'Miss you already film', a perfect choice for a movie with your best chums. Once we'd been emotionally drained (we were all in floods of tears), we walked from the cinema home, taking a nature route, talking away about the most random things, conker hunting and generally just having a fab giggle. Spending such spontaneous fun with my two best friends was such a treasure. I'm so blessed to have these two in my life, bringing endless amounts of happiness and warming my heart always. True friendship is pretty hard to find as the best ones are already mine. These two support me through everything, continuously make me smile, helping mold me into who I am today and I genuinely couldn't thank them enough. Friendship is an aspect needed to remind you that life can truly be great, unforgettable memories are made possible into future stories to tell.
To fully appreciate the autumnal atmosphere, a picture of collecting conkers with leaves all around was rather expected. Even though only a few pictures were captured, they've become some of my favourite images of us as a trio.

Experiencing moments of genuine happiness, laughter and love for one another is rare. Looking back on these times makes me so thankful to have the best friends I do, sharing such fun adventures together.

I hope you enjoyed this lifestyle type post. What do you like best about autumn?
