Review: Tanya Burr lipgloss in 'Picnic in the Park'

Well hello to you my reader chums! Today I'm going to tell you about one of my favourite products at the moment featured in my April favourites: Tanya Burr's lipgloss in 'picnic in the park.' At the beginning of April Tanya's range got launched into over 100 superdrug stores.

If you're a big fan of pink lip products, this lipgloss is everything you need for a glossy look and here is my full review.

Product packaging

I love the glass tube as it gives a rather sophisticated look, with the heart on the lid and the italic writing making the lipgloss look cute at the same time. As its a transparent tube you're able to tell the colour of the lipgloss before purchasing which is always helpful. I think as the packaging is really adorable, it would look lovely on display on a shelf/dressing table where you keep your beauty products.

Application of the lipgloss

The applicator it comes with makes it really easy to apply lipgloss. It's a flat doe foot applicator that when taken out gives you the right amount of lipgloss to wear. When applying you the lips it goes on smoothly and is the right size for the lips which I love.

Colour of the lipgloss

The colour it gives when on is this beautiful medium pink colour with a lovely shine over the top. I adore this colour, it's perfect for the spring/summertime! I love to wear it with a neutral eye and winged liner, it adds a pop of colour to the makeup look.

Lasting power

The lipgloss lasts a couple of hours in my opinion which is amazing considering when I wear lip products they just wipe off really easily. When the product does come off it leaves the lips feeling really moisturised which is different from much other lipgloss's I've tried. Yet I love that aspect because it means I wouldn't need to put on some lip balm before or afterwards as the lipgloss has these moisturising features.

Review: Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water

Well hello to you my reader chums! Today I've got a review for you on Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water. I've been loving this product lately and it's been previously featured in my April favourites. I purchased this over a month ago after reading a couple of blogs of people raving about it and wanted to give it a try myself.

If you need a fast and effective makeup remover that is gentle on the skin, here is my full review of my Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water.

Garnier micellar cleansing water

How the micellar water works on the skin

Since buying, I've used it instead of my usual cleanser in my skincare routine and it works amazingly! This micellar water easily wipes away makeup, even eye makeup gently with it not being too harsh on the skin. It leaves your face feeling refreshed with all the nasty germs and makeup excess been taken away. I found after using this, my eyelids have become less oily, I'm not sure if it's because my other cleanser was making them that way or if this product has soothed them, however, I'm extremely pleased with the outcome. I use this day and night and even a little amount of the product goes a long way.

The number of product uses

It claims to have 200 uses, I've had this product for over a month and use it twice a day meaning I've had over 60 uses and I've only used a quarter of the bottle. With that in mind, I reckon it'll give me about the recommended amount. The product has no perfume which is a big advantage because I have sensitive skin. I love this aspect of it because it doesn't feel like it's harming my skin. Also, it's rather a light product and literally feels like water applied to the skin. With it being water you'd think it would take ages to dry after being applied, however, it takes under a minute to dry which is always a bonus!

Overall thoughts

For the first cleansing water I've tested, I'm definitely going to try out more! To sum up: I adore this product, it easily takes off makeup, leaves the skin feeling soothed and clean with it not being too harsh! A must-buy in my opinion.

Makeup tutorial: Natural summer look

Well hello to you my reader chums! Today, as I've not done a tutorial in a while, I thought I'd show you a natural makeup look I've been enjoying lately which is perfect for the summertime.

Base makeup

For the base I use the Maybelline BB cream. I wear this on days where my skin needs an extra oomph and glow. It's extremely light on the skin and gives a lovely dewy natural effect. As it has SPF15 in, it's also perfect for the summertime. To then get rid of my under-eye circles and as a eye primer, I use the oh so famous Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I've found that it works as an eye primer as well as a concealer.

To powder I use the Rimmel Stay Matte. I then on a Real Techniques blusher brush take the Bourjois chocolate  bronzer and slightly contour as well as dusting it all over my face and neck to give myself a bronzed glow. For a cheek bone highlight, I use the Sleek rose gold blush that has a lot of gold glitters in, I apply that.

Eye makeup

Natural summer look eye shadow

For the eye shadow, I use the lighter brown matte shade all over the lid and the darker matte shade in the crease.

To blend out the darker crease colour to make it look more natural I use the shade 'Freestyle' from the smoked palette. Then for a brow bone and inner corner highlight I use the shade 'Kinky'.

To finish the look I add a wing on the eyes, line my waterline with a white kohl liner and apply a couple of costs of mascara.

April favourites

Well hello to you my reader chums! April is always an exciting month with the start of spring and this month, I've loved all the pink things. If you're looking for a great makeup remover or pink nail polish, here are my April favourites.

Garnier micellar water

Maybelline colour tattoo in rose gold

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 'Pink Gold'
The colour it gives off is so beautiful and fresh, it adds a lovely pink shimmer to the lid. The pigmentation is truly amazing, only a little is needed to achieve an eye look. As soon as I got it, I've been wearing it constantly, I love it that much. The colour tattoo claims 24 hour stay on the pot which is something I'd doubt. However, I'd say it's quite accurate because I wore this on my eyes all day in London followed by a party in the night which was a good 16/17 hours and it didn't crease/budge. For £4.99 it's a bargain! I couldn't recommend it more.

Strawberry lip balm

I'm not usually a fan of lip balms in pots, as I don't really like the idea of repeatedly putting your finger in and applying product to the lips. However, I really like this. Despite the product being rather thin, with you having to apply a few coats, it really moisturises the lips and has the most gorgeous smell. I usually apply this before I go to bed, which results in the next morning having my lips feeling soft and moisturised.

MUA pink nail polish

MUA nail polish in 'Lush Lilac

As it's spring now I've started to get back into pastel and bright colours. After a few coats, the nail polish builds up to this beautiful pale pink colour which lasts a good amount of time, 3-5 days. For a pound, MUA nail polishes are a bargain and I absolutely love this shade!

Tanya Burr's lipgloss's 'picnic in the park'

The lipgloss offers the most beautiful medium pinky colour. It applies so easily due to the flat applicator the lipgloss comes with. It stays put for a good few hours and once the lipgloss is worn off, it leaves the lips feeling really moisturised. One of my favourite parts of it is the smell, the lipgloss smells of strawberry laces, it just makes me want to eat it!

Garnier micellar water

Garnier Micellar Water

I picked this up because I've read some good reviews and wanted to see if it was worth the hype. I must say it definitely is. The cleansing water easily removes makeup leaving the skin feeling refreshed and soothed. When applied on a cotton pad and wiped over the face, it's really gentle and feels like it's doing the job. I honestly love it and am going to post a full review of this too so watch out for that!

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed my April favourites! ❤
