March favourites ❤️

Well hello to you my reader chums! After the busy month of March and awakening of spring, April lays ahead with the promise of even more sunnier days. The past few weeks have swept by and in that time, there's been a few favourites I'd love to share with you.

Here's a look at my March favourites:

Estee Lauder Bronze goddess

Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess bronzer

It's no secret my big love for bronzer and with the weather getting that little bit warmer, it's the best time to create the bronze glow look. Towards the end of the month, it was my best friend's 21st so we all got spray tans ready for the party. As the tan faded quickly from my face, to bring that colour back and match the rest of my body, I took out the summer ready bronzer. Even with the slight shimmer running through, it can be used for both an overall bronze look and contouring. The underlying orange tone isn't dramatic in the slightest and works easily for an everyday bronzed effect.

Mac's lipstick in 'Faux'

Mac's 'Faux' lipstick

As spring comes around the corner, it's time for my nude and pink lipsticks to take centre stage. My ultimate nude staple especially in the spring is Mac's 'Faux' lipstick. Their satin finishes are my second favourite as I love the ultra creamy look it gives with a slight gloss over the top. The shade 'Faux' is a light, dusky pink, an ideal subtle colour for everyday use. Its consistency is insanely moisturising, the lasting power is seamless and the colour can suit a variety of looks; I love it.

L'oreal's infallible foundation in 'vanilla'

L'oreal's Infallible foundation

Last year, L'oreal's infallible foundation became my go to everyday choice for many reasons. The lasting power, shade range, consistency and how it set on my skin was fantastic. I was never a set shade however and usually mixed up the two lightest shades together to create the colour for me. As I'd been needing a darker shade this month with my tan, I mixed this shade 'vanilla' with Revlon's colour stay foundation and it worked a treat. I thought as they were different consistencies, the mixture wouldn't work, however once applied it sat well on my skin and lasted throughout the day. I'd definitely recommend this foundation if you have combination to oily skin like me as it can be on the drier side otherwise.

Argan oil shower gel

Argan oil shower gel

I received an argan oil wash set for Christmas with everything you could need. Over the past few months, I've been trying different argan oil products out and have been impressed especially by the shower gel. The scent isn't too overwhelming and it's insanely moisturising on the skin.

Topshop's camo jacket

Topshop's camo jacket

A fashion favourite of mine that I can't get enough of this month is this camo jacket from Topshop. I've been loving to pair it with different prints, jeans or throwing it over a dress to give a bit more edge to the outfit. Its a very thin and light material so doesn't add much warmth, however that makes it ideal for this time of year. As the jacket is more of an autumn style jacket, I think it looks new and different to the typical light toned, everyday spring fashion.

I hope you enjoyed my March favourites. What have you been loving over these past few months?

Spring time essentials ❤️

Well hello to you my reader chums! Blossoming trees and sunnier days, spring time has started early in the UK with some beautiful, bright weather. Spring is the season for bolder colours, fresh makeup and light-weight fashion so let's get into my essentials for this time of year.

Top beauty and fashion essentials for the spring

Lighter jackets

When the sun comes out, bid goodbye to the winter coats and branch out for lighter jacket season. Some of my favourite jackets I pull out in spring time; from a furry denim jacket to my beloved bright yellow raincoat, not having to wear too many layers is such a treat.

Body care

It's no doubt when the warmer weather strikes, the spring fashion takes centre stage. This means legs are out and the good old hibernation of winter is over. Even though my skin is drier in the winter, I tend to moisturise my legs when its warmer as they'll be on show. My favourite product is the Soap and Glory 'Sugar Crush' butter cream as it sinks in quickly and has the most incredible, lingering scent of sweet limes.

Sunglasses

On sunnier days, whether you're going for a drive or walk in the park, a good pair of sunglasses a needed to keep the shine out your eyes and protect them from the blaring sun.

Makeup

For spring, the fresher makeup looks come into play. Dewy skin, rosy cheeks and pink lips are my staple choices. With the sun in the sky and nature blossoming, it's the season I wear quite natural makeup.

Highlight - A shining sun means every opportunity for your highlight to glow. I love to go a bit crazy on the highlight in spring to have those on fleek cheekbones. My favourite all time product to achieve this is the Sleek 'Solstice' palette. I usually use the cream shade first on the cheekbones, brow bones and cupids bow then go in with a powdered shade for the ultimate highlight.

Pink lipstick - I'm not a massive fan of pink lipsticks, however I love toned down dusky pinks or slight pink nudes. This is the season I branch out with pink tones. Nyx Cosmetics matte creams offer a wide range of these shades including 'Rome', 'Stockholm' and 'Cannes' which I alternate between.

Blush - I'm a massive fan of contouring, however when spring comes along, I think rosy cheeks and a subtle bronze suit better. Cream blushes I find give the most natural and glowing finish on the skin. My go to at the minute is Max Factor's cream blush in 'Soft Murano'. It's a very warm dark pink shade and provides a lovely flush to the cheeks.

Eye shadow stick - As I like more natural looks in the spring, I find eye shadow sticks to be a quick and simple to give that slight wash of colour on the lids. The stick pictured is by a European brand 3ina in a mauve toned grey.

I hope you enjoyed my spring time essentials. What are yours?

Spring makeup look ❤️

Well hello to you my reader chums! As May is slowly drawing to a close and the summer months are nearing, I'm going to share with you a spring makeup look I've been wearing frequently over the past month or so. When it comes to spring, the pink toned shadows, glowing cheekbones and nude lips come into play like the sun's natural shine; I love it.

Here's a look at the my makeup:

An overview of the products I used:

Spring makeup products

Base spring makeup products

Base:

After moisturising, I start off with my favourite primer L'oreal's Infallible. I love to use this on an everyday basis as it keeps my makeup completely in place and the shine at bay throughout the day, including my oily T zone area. For foundation I mix the lightest shade 'porcelain' with 'vanilla' of the L'oreal Infallible foundation to achieve the perfect colour to match my skin. Once that's blended in, I apply Rimmel's Wake me up concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes, then set the whole base with Rimmel's Stay matte powder.

Contour and highlight products

Contour and highlight:

For contour, I opted for my number one bronzer, Benefit's Hoola because it achieves a gorgeous bronzed glow to the skin and is the best product I've used for a complete contoured look. I chose a rosy toned down blush for a little flush of colour as I wanted more focus on the highlight. Since spring is the season when everything blooms and the sun begins shining more, I love to have stunning shimmering cheekbones. From Sleek's Solstice palette, I used the cream shade 'Ecliptic' as the base and dusted 'Hemisphere' over the top for a more dramatic sheen.

Eyes and brows:

I stuck to my usual brow routine with a L'oreal shadow in '106' and clear brow gel to set it. Onto eyes, I wanted to create a shimmery pink look as it's my go to makeup for spring. To start I used Maybeline's colour tattoo in 'Pink gold' to give the lids a wash of pink and set it with the shade 'Sin' from the Naked 1 palette. I then darkened the eye slightly with 'Toasted' in the outer corner and ran 'Naked' through the crease for a bit of warmth. To define the eye, I took a blend of shades 'Primal' and Undone' in the outer third of the eye. To finish I highlighted the inner corner, lined the eyes with L'oreal's Super liner, curled my lashes and then applied a couple coats of my favourite mascara, Maybelline's Lash sensational.

NYX matte lip clream in Stockholm

Lips:

I kept the lips rather neutral because I wanted the focus to be on the glowing eyes and cheekbones. The colour I chose was one of my very recent purchases, NYX's matte cream lipstick in the shade 'Stockholm'. It's a gorgeous dusky pink, brown shade and I absolutely love the effect it adds to the overall look.

Spring lip product essentials

Well hello to you my reader chums! Now spring has begun, I thought I would share with you my go to lip products for this season. The majority are fairly new finds and one is a favourite old discovery. For me when we transition into spring, its all about quite fresh makeup, pink lips and more brighter shades for the lips also. I've got a variety from quite subtle to very bright lip choices, here's all the products:

The first product is a Baby Lips Dr Rescue in the shade 'Just peachy'. This range is fairly new in the UK and come in a selection from light to more bold colours. 'Just peachy' is a baby pink colour and gives quite a glossy light pink wash over the lips. As its very low key, its perfect for a quick everyday use. I love this because its really moisturising on the lips and has a fresh, minty scent.
The next lip product is one of the hyped up Revlon lip butter in 'Peach parfait'. These are perfect for this season because you can just whip them on and they are super soft on the lips. This shade in particular gives a beautiful rosy coloured, glossy sheen on the lips.
Another one of my essentials are the Revlon matte balms, as you can tell from the picture above I have 3 which I adore for this season! The first one is in the shade 'Elusive' and is this medium, toned down pink shade. For me its a very Spring pink colour as its not too much of a bright pink, yet also not too muted- a great in between. Since these lip products are matte, the lasting power is very good and despite this element they are really soft on the lips. The application is a lip balm consistency, yet gives the final look of a lipstick.
A more bold option of the Revlon matte balms is the shade 'Audacious' This colour is a very bright orange, great for a more out there makeup look. I love orangey shades and for those braver people who would wear them this one is a good choice!

The last Revlon matte balm is one of my most recent additions and in the shade 'sultry'. Out of the three, this one is the darkest. The colour is a brown toned, dusky rose which when applied has a vintage edge to it. I think this one is a great darker option for a spring day!
The last item is a very loved product of mine and it's Tanya Burr's 'Picnic in the park'. I was obsessed with this when I first bought it for the Spring time last year. Its a beautiful pinky colour with a glossy sheen over the top which is the only lipgloss I know to not only last but leave your lips feeling moisturised! I think those who love a subtle bit of colour especially pink will adore this product as its not too striking! For more swatches I wrote this blog post a while back.
