Well hello to you my reader chums! Recently I ombréd my hair again and as this essentially means bleaching the ends of your hair, it's vital to use the right products to take care of your hair.
If you've recently ombréd your hair or looking for the right products to care for your hair, here is my ombré hair care routine.
Shampoo and conditioner for ombré hair
The first thing I use is the 'Bee Strong' shampoo and conditioner. I've been using and repurchasing this for a while, it has the loveliest smell and as it's aimed to strengthen hair is perfect for somebody who has damaged their hair in some form such as ombréing. Both of these products leave my hair feeling soft and looking healthier.
Purple shampoo by John Freida
If you have ombréd or dyed your hair blonde all over, it's necessary to use a purple shampoo because it helps get rid of the brassy tones and bring out the blonde colour. I use this between my shampoo and conditioner and apply it on the blonde part at the bottom of my hair. I leave it on for 3-5 minutes to give it chance to do its job and wash it out. Once washed out, it honestly makes such a difference, resulting in the blonde being more true to its colour and making it more noticeable. I put this on once or twice a week.
Strengthening mask by Herbal Essences 'Bee Strong' range
I'm in love with this and featured it in my latest favourites post which you can check out here. The consistency of the mask is rich and creamy and feels like luxury when applied to the hair. I usually leave it on between 3-5 minutes, then rinse it out and it leaves my hair feeling so silky. I would definitely recommend some type of hair mask to use once or twice a week if you have ombréd hair.
Argan Oil
Once I've towel dried my hair I take a small amount of argan oil in the palm of my hand and run it through the bottoms of my hair. Then when my hair is dried, it leaves the ends feeling smoother. Argan oil also smells amazing, which is a bonus!
Keratin Smooth heat defence spray
When my hair is dry and if I apply heat, I always use a heat defence like this one keratin smooth by Tresemme. It's vital to use some form of heat protectant because by ombréing your hair you've already damaged it and don't want to add extra damage by adding heat, therefore a heat defence is necessary. Even if you've not dyed your hair you should always use some form of a heat defence because over time heat damages the hair and thins it out. I love this one in particular because it has such a nice smell and it does the job which is something needed in a heat protectant.
Those were all the products I like to use on my hair, I hope you enjoyed it!
Thank you for reading <3
I use the John Frieda toning shampoo swell, I can always tell the difference when I've used it and when I haven't used it in a while haha
