5 things that make me happy ft Poster Store | Gifted

Well hello to you my reader chums! We all have things in life that make our hearts soar, whether they're people, hobbies, passions, or the beauty of capturing a moment by picture. I'm very vocal when it comes to the things which make me happy and I talk about my passions regularly to those around me. When the Poster Store got in touch about collaborating with them, I jumped at the chance as it was a way to bring those passions of mine to life visually in my bedroom.

5 things that make me happy

The Poster Store is a new Swedish company, launched by two brothers, Oskar and Tobias Enlund. Their main focus is sustainability (which I love) and they specialise in high-quality, sustainable wall art, printed in Stockholm on ecological paper. The Poster Store offers something for everyone with varied posters including typography to silhouettes and a selection of different prints, that you can easily choose the right print to suit your décor taste.

This post contains items that are gifted by the Poster Store but all thoughts are my own.

Whether you're planning to create a gallery wall or need a print for your new home, here are my favourite picks from the Poster Store and the 5 things that inspired my choices.

Travelling around the world

It's no secret that my biggest passion in life is booking a flight and jetting off to a new location, whether it's the next country over or thousands of miles away. The experience of a new place and seeing something for the first time is exhilarating to me and I can't think of anything better. Roaming around off the beaten path, discovering an old school family-run restaurant, or visiting the sights, is all that travelling is about.

The two travel-themed photos I chose were one of the Amalfi Coast in Italy and the other is a Broadway sign. Italy is my favourite country ever, it's a place that feels like home to me as I'm part Italian and I've always been in love with the culture, the food and their way of life. It's a place I'll return back to over and over again to explore new cities and regions without ever getting bored of the pure joy it brings. The Amalfi Coast is a region I'm yet to explore but has been on my list for the longest time. I want to see the endless colourful houses hugging the coast with my own eyes, take a dip in the cool waters and eat the freshly cooked Italian food, alfresco style.

The other image of Broadway fulfills my love of musicals and the theatre. I've been to the West End more times than I can count and I love experiencing the fun and excitement of what musicals are, and the happiness they bring me. I've been to Broadway once on my trip to New York and I long to go back and this photo gives me all the reminiscing feels.

Writing stories

I'm a writer, that's a part of my soul. I've written for as long as I can remember, making up stories and as I've gotten older, writing on this blog. I've written five novels over the past year or so and it has made the writing love in my heart grow even more as I know it's the thing I'm meant to be doing, and what is right for me.

The picture 'create your story' was too apt to resist. I know when I now look at it, it'll give me the motivation to keep going with my writing and never give up. It also has a double meaning I think because it inspires me to create my own story and live the life I want to lead. Life is all about creating stories to tell in years to come, whether they're fictional on paper or the memories we make with loved ones.

5 things that make me happy

The people I have around me

I practice gratitude a lot as it helps with my outlook on life and also keeps me grounded. I'm incredibly lucky to be surrounded by a strong family unit and have the best group of friends a girl could ever have. My loved ones make every day a little easier, every moment a little brighter and make me feel loved when I need it most. The print I chose to represent this was the heart silhouette image. It's simple with the thin brushstroke but I love that as it goes with the black and white theme and shows that love can be simple for the right ones for you.

My ambitions and dreams

I've always been a dreamer with my head in the clouds, dreaming of an unrealistic life that a lot of us imagine when we're kids before the reality of the world hits. However, those ambitions are still strong as I believe we all deserve to have the life we imagine including me. I'm a big inspirational quote person as they usually offer the wisest and most simple advice that I can take with me in life.

I chose the picture with the quote 'change your thoughts and you'll change your world' as it really resonates with this idea. Your mindset can really change every element of your life and gravitate the right things towards you, whether they're opportunities or people.

5 things that make me happy

The person I am becoming

Life is about growth, personally, professionally, financially, and in knowledge. It's always about learning who you are and bettering yourself as a human, every single day. I look back at who I was in my teens and where I am today, and I'm proud of the person I'm becoming and how I've changed in myself. That change makes me happy every day as I've gone from someone who hated every part of themselves to a person who is excited about everything she is doing. The picture 'I am still learning' really helped me think of the journey I've been on and keeps me grounded for what is to come and gives me all the emotional feelings.
