Well hello to you my reader chums! Chocolate and lipstick are two of my favourite things so a product with them is the best combination. I treated myself to the Too Faced 'Chocolate Honey' melted lipstick a few months back to see if the range was worth the chocolate hype and it's safe to say, I'm obsessed. It has become my go-to nude lipstick, either for daily use or evening out, here are a few reasons why.
Packaging
Something I love about the Two-Faced brand is their creative ideas for each product range and how they present them, the packaging for this liquid lipstick is no different. Its sleek and sophisticated design is not only the right size but the perfect shape for use. The tube style means the easy application and with each lipstick shade, there's a different coloured tube which I love.
Application
I couldn't fault the easy tube applicator of this lipstick. The soft nib allows just enough product to come out preventing leakage and excess waste. This in turn helps with a building coverage of the lipstick, giving the full-colour pay off.
Pigmentation
I wasn't sure what to expect with the melted chocolate lipstick's pigmentation at first given the matte and slightly glossy finish, however, I was by far impressed. With one swatch, the lipstick is completely full coverage and only needs another light touch up for full colour pay off. The shine running over the matte finish doesn't tone down the pigmentation in the slightest.
Consistency
One of my favourite things about the lipstick is its creamy consistency. When applied, the lipstick is very soft on the lips and feels almost like a lip balm. As it's a liquid lipstick, it'll take a good few minutes to fully set and become the full opaque finish. After that, it feels like nothing is on the lips and isn't drying in the slightest, yet keeps them moisturised.
Shade
I wanted to dabble into brown nude lipsticks hence why I picked this up. The colour I'd describe as a light brown with a warm pink undertone. Its the type of colour which will compliment daring eye looks but also a lovely everyday use with a few coats of mascara. I like to wear it on all different occasions as I think it adds something more than your typical pink toned nude.
Scent
Too Faced creative themes never disappoint with the melted chocolate lipsticks genuinely smelling like the sweet treat itself. It may not be the most lingering scent once left on the lips for a while, yet when first applied, it smells so good you'll want to lick it right off.
Lasting power
Only the most important factor everyone looks for in lipstick - how long does it last? I wouldn't say it is the best quality of the Two-Faced melted lipsticks, however, they do last for a good few hours before reapplication is needed.
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Two-Faced melted chocolate lipstick in the shade 'Chocolate Honey'. Given the comfortable wear, beautiful pigmentation and easy application, I couldn't fault it. 'Chocolate Honey' has become my go-to everyday nude and I adore it. I'd love to give the other shades a try.
