Well hello to you my reader chums! I've got a little mid week fashion post for you all. A week or two ago I teamed up with Weddington Way who inspired me to create a red carpet look using one of their dresses. I wanted to go for a very elegant and sophisticated look because to me when celebrities are seen on the red carpet, they look oh so glamorous. I went searching through the website and came across some gorgeous dresses, however this stunning navy blue one really caught my eye. The colour is absolutely beautiful, I love the strapless design and the length of the dress. Its called Watters Oak and comes in a selection of colours.
The choice of shoes I went for are these neutral, beige shade thin heels. The reason I picked these was because since the dress is rather long, there isn't much need for an extravagant shoe, yet on the red carpet you'd want a bit of height and I thought simplistic heels would be perfect for the occasion.
The hairstyle I wanted to go for was something a bit different and when I saw this image above online, I fell in love with it. The hairstyle isn't the most precise put together style, however it has a sense of fun and freeness to it, unique compared to more slicked back styles some celebrities choose. I think it adds a fun twist into the the formal, elegant outfit.
For makeup, I wanted to go for a rather glamorous and sophisticated look, taking inspiration from the picture above. As the dress is navy, I thought a gold smokey eye would compliment it. To create a gold smokey eye, I love the shade half baked from Urban Decay's Naked palette all over the lid. Then to smoke it out, blend the shade buck through the outer corner and slightly in the crease. To then darken it up and add extra sparkle, I blend the shade smog in the outer corner. As the red carpet is for such exclusive events, I think a bold red lip screams elegance. I would go for something like Mac's Russian red because as its a matte shade, its going to last for a long time and will really add something extra to the sultry gold eye look.
I hope you enjoyed this red carpet inspiration fashion post and the look I put together. If you liked the dress and want to check out more of their dress range you can here.
