July favourites 2014 ❤

Well hello to you my reader chums! As were nearing the end of July, it's time for a favourites post. I usually do these at the beginning of the next month if that makes sense, yet today I was in the favourites mood! Here's everything I've been loving this month:

The first thing I'm going to talk about is the very hyped up Maybelline colour tattoo in 'On and on bronze'. I've literally been wanting this for so long now and if you saw my most recent haul post, you'll know I picked it up at the end of last month. Since then I've worn it everyday without fail either on its own or with eyeshadow on top. The colour tattoo alone gives the most beautiful bronze colour and is definitely worth the hype, I love it! It's an amazing base as it lasts ages and help adds more of a bronze to the eye under eyeshadow or gives a lovely bronze glow when just applied on its own. It's also perfect for this time of year because you can just whack it on, blend it out and voila your done! In the summer I like simple quick makeup and this does the trick!

The next product is a lip balm which I received in a set at Christmas. I love to apply this just before bed as it really helps moisturise my lips and has a lovely fruity smell which is always a bonus! The packaging is adorable too which I love!

The next product is one of Tanya Burr's lipgloss's in 'Chic'. I also bought this recently and it pairs perfectly with the Maybelline colour tattoo that I previously mentioned. This lipgloss gives the perfect nude colour and if your looking for a new nude lip product I'd definitely recommend it! The gloss lasts for a couple of hours and has the most beautiful smell of strawberry laces. I just love Tanya's range, the products are of such high quality and have the cutest packaging!

The next product is from the new BarryM 'loudmouth' range. I was lucky enough to win the whole range and have tested out a few of them lately. To me, I always think of summer as the time to wear a bright lip and I've been loving this colour especially this month. It's a beautiful coral pink shade and looks lovely paired with a neutral eye. These lip stains are such a lovely product when applied to the lips, they easily glide on and stain the lips making them last longer. The consistency is of a lipgloss but they look like a lipstick when applied. I also love the names they have chosen for each lip stain, it gives a uniqueness to them! Looking forward to wearing more of the other shades!

The last product is the sleek face form kit. I've been loving the bronzer and highlighter especially in this face palette this month. The bronzer is matte making it an amazing product to contour with as well as give that overall bronze effect when dusted all over the face. The highlighter gives such a pretty cream sheen when applied on the top of the cheekbones/ browbone and looks great in this weather as it stands out due to the sun!
This month marked the angelversary of Talia Joy Castellano who passed away last year on 16th July at 11.22. To keep her legacy alive, I wore a #mintmani for #taliasmintmani as her last Instagram post was of her mint nails. Talia will always be my inspiration, she's helped me through so much with her slogan 'Just keep swimming' and all her videos which brightened up my day! Everyday she's always in my thoughts and I miss her dearly. Even though I never knew her she made a huge impact on my life and continues to inspire me daily. Rest in paradise Talia, forever in my heart ❤
The shade I wore for this was BarryM in mint green and I love the colour, however it takes a few coats to be opaque.

Song favourites:

There's a few songs this month that have constantly been on repeat, the first one being 'Somebody to you' by the Vamps ft Demi Lovato as its such a feel good summer tune. Another couple are 'Amnesia' by 5SOS and 'Rather be' by Clean Bandit, I just love them! 'Give me love' by Ed Sheeran has been another favourite. This song is quite old but I've got listening to it lately and have fell in love with it. When I'm out on my own in public I sometimes get quite panicky, however this song has been rather calming for me for some reason. Also, Ed Sheeran's 'All in our stars' I absolutely love this song for the meaning because its based on The fault in our stars and has such a beautiful tone. It has really helped keep me calm too when feeling panicky because of the delicacy of the lyrics and tone.

Ombré hair care routine

Well hello to you my reader chums! Recently I ombréd my hair again and as this essentially means bleaching the ends of your hair, its vital to use the right products to take care of your hair. I'm going to share with you the products I like to use:

First thing I use is the 'Bee Strong' shampoo and conditioner. I've been using and re-purchasing this for a while, it has the loveliest smell and as its aimed to strengthen hair is perfect for somebody who has damaged their hair in some form such as ombréing. Both of these products leave my hair feeling soft and looking healthier.

The next thing is a tone corrector purple shampoo by John Freida. If you have ombréd or dyed your hair blonde all over, its necessary to use a purple shampoo because it helps get rid of the brassy tones and bring out the blonde colour. I use this between my shampoo and conditioner and apply it on the blonde part at the bottom of my hair. I leave it on for 3-5 minutes to give it chance to do its job and wash it out. Once washed out, it honestly makes such a difference, resulting in the blonde being more true to its colour and making it more noticeable. I put this on once or twice a week.

Another product I use once or twice a week is this strengthening mask also from the 'Bee Strong' range by Herbal essences. I'm in love with this and featured it in my latest favourites post which you can check out here. The consistency of the mask is rich and creamy and feels like luxury when applied to the hair. I usually leave it on between 3-5 minutes, then rinse it out and it leaves my hair feeling so silky. I would definitely recommend some type of hair mask to use once or twice a week if you have ombréd hair.

Once I've towel dried my hair I take a small amount of argan oil in the palm of my hand and run it through the bottoms of my hair. Then when my hair is dried, it leaves the ends feeling smoother. Argan oil also smells amazing, which is a bonus!

When my hair is dry and if I apply heat, I always use a heat defence like this one keratin smooth by Tresemme. Its vital to use some form of heat protectant because by ombréing your hair you've already damaged it and don't want to add extra damage by adding heat, therefore a heat defence is necessary. Even if you've not dyed your hair you should always use some form of a heat defence because over time heat damages the hair and thins it out. I love this one in particular because it has such a nice smell and it does the job which is something needed in a heat protectant.

Those were all the products I like to use on my hair, I hope you enjoyed!

Leavers ball 2014 ❤

Well hello to you my reader chums! Today I'd thought I'd share with you some of the pictures from my leavers ball. Leavers Ball was last Thursday held at a beautiful venue, everyone had such an amazing time and I'm so happy to of shared it with many fantastic people! It was a great end to the seven years I've spent at the school and the 2 years I've spent in sixth form with all these people. When the girls and I arrived there was a red carpet outside and the guests looked all glammed up in their stunning dresses/suits! Before we went in, we all had the chance to talk and take photos outside of the venue on the carpet. Then everybody bought some drinks and went into the main hall where the dinner was held. The decoration was beautiful, it looked like a wedding! I was honestly so amazed with how everything turned out. The dinner went ahead where we had a three course meal, followed by an award ceremony. There were funny and special awards where my twin won 'best smile', I was really happy for her! On our tables we were all given our own personal certificate and I got 'Diva' as all the dance girls call me 'Diva Della'. Our head of sixth form also made us an individual cupcake with our initials on which was super cute and scrumptious! After all this the party began and everybody danced the night away! It was such a special night, one which I'll remember forever. I'm really happy I got to arrive there with my girls, they mean the world to me, here are some pictures we took before hand:
This is one of my favourite pictures of us <3 (Maria, Mel, Brittany, Danielle and Me)

There were a few other pictures that were taken by the photographer but I haven't purchased them and therefore didn't want to publish them on my blog. I wish I took some more of my own pictures with everyone else at prom, other than just my group. However, it was such a memorable night and I wish the best of luck to everyone there in the future.

I honestly can't believe school is now officially over, through those seven years there, I've gained and lost friends but the important ones have stuck with me and I'm excited to what the future brings for us all. These seven years, I've grown and found myself, its been such a learning curve where many amazing memories have been made!

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed <3

May/June favourites 2014 ❤

Well hello to you my reader chums! Today as I didn't do a May favourites I thought I would combine everything I've been loving in May and June together. The reason for no favourites post last month was I hadn't tried many new products and was focusing on my exams. Therefore here's everything I've been loving over the past two months:

The first product which I'm pretty sure I've talked about before in favourites post and used in tutorials is this Maybelline BB cream. I've been using this BB cream a lot lately because it contains SPF in it which will help protect my skin from the sun. Usually I only wear concealer and powder for coverage, however now it's summer and weather is warmer, I've turned to this product frequently as part of my base makeup. The product itself is extremely light yet gives a lovely radiant glow to the skin, making it perfect for a dewy look. I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try out a new BB cream.

The next product is a felt tip liner by collection. I used to use this liner all the time when I first got into winged liner but then went and tried out different liners to see how they worked. The other month I ran out of my other eye liner so picked this up and for the small price of £3! It's great with the easy application and the colour it gives. The only down side is it isn't waterproof meaning if my eyes water it will begin to  rub off. However it still lasts a long time and does the job for the price is costs.

The next product is the real techniques contour brush. I've been really enjoying using this lately to blend my under eye concealer. It's the perfect size to fit the area under the eyes and blends in really easily. Also it's such a soft brush meaning its not to harsh on a sensitive area of the face. Even though I love it to contour with too, I prefer using it as a concealer brush.

The next product is a blueberry lip butter by the body shop. I've been using this every night before I go to bed to moisturise my lips. First of all I have to say its has the most beautiful smell, one of the reasons I bought it! The smell makes you want to eat it! The consistency is very creamy and it's lovely when applied to the lips, another favourite of mine from The Body Shop.

The next product is a No7 cleanser. I've been using this for the past couple of weeks and I've fallen in love with it. To apply you rub it in the cleanser in circular motions then hold a warm muslin cloth over your face to open up the pores and wipe the rest of the cleanser away. When taken off it leaves the skin feeling fresh and cleaned. It has a lovely smell but isn't too perfumed as the product is really gentle on the skin. As it was the first hot cloth cleanser I've tried I'm really impressed!

The last product is a herbal essences hair mask. I've been using this for a while now and put it on once or twice a week. After rinsing when it's been left on for five minutes, my hair feels really silky and shiny as well as having a lovely smell. The consistency is like a thick conditioner and has made a difference to my hair. When I've used this the results make my hair look a lot silkier and healthier.

That was all my favourites I hope you enjoyed!
