Review: Loréal wild ombré kit

Well hello to you my reader chums!

I've been into the ombré look for a while now and really wanted to have it done on myself. There are many different ways of having it done. When I was on YouTube an ad came up at the side of the Loréal wild ombré kit. I loved that it looked really easy to do so I did some research on tutorials. After watching them I decided to go out and purchase it.
I got colour number two which is designed for dark blonde to medium brown hair because I have light brown hair. I didn't actually ombré it myself but got  got  my friend Chloe to do it :) the kit came with easy steps to follow. There were four labelled items: a sachet of lightening powder, a tube of lightening creme and an applicator bottle of developing cream which all had to be mixed into the applicator bottle. The last labelled thing was a bottle of shampoo which smelt lovely! The kit also came with a brush which made it really easy to apply the mixture to the hair because you could just brush it through. Here's some before and after shots:
Here's the back of my hair, as you can see the difference is quite subtle and natural because I didn't want too much of a dramatic transition between the brown and the blonde.

Here's the shots from the front.

Overall I would highly recommend this product, it was really easy to apply and gave me the natural look of ombré that I wanted. I think if I left it in a bit longer it would of gone blonder so if you would like a lighter ombré leave it up to the full time on the box. I only left it on for about half an hour. The brush that it came with was such a bonus because it really did help! If you want a good easy ombré kit, this is the kit for you!

Review: Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liquid Liner

Well hello to you my reader chums!

I love a bit of liquid eyeliner to glam up a look. If you're on the market for an affordable liquid eyeliner, here is my full review of Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liquid Liner.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liquid Liner

I was on the lookout for a good waterproof liquid eyeliner that will last as my eyes tend to water especially in the heat which is weird and also when it's windy. The fact that the tip was really thin intrigued me and I really wanted to test it out.

First impressions

When I first used this liner I fell in love with it, it glided on well, stayed put for a long time and even survived Tidal Wave! (a water ride at Thorpe Park)

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liquid Liner

Testing out the eye liner

This is what it looked like on the first day I tried it out. However, after a few uses, I've found that the colour doesn't go on too easily and that the eyeliner fades quite easily as well. The liner has dried out pretty quickly which I'm disappointed about and it doesn't resist water as much as it used to. I'm not sure if it's because I've been applying it over eye shadow that has caused the liner to be drier or what. I would say that I do like the application of it though because I find felt tip eyeliners are the easiest to apply, so that would be a positive for me! Also that it does agree with the name because it can create an ultra-thin line.

Overall thoughts

Overall I'm a little disappointed with the product because I expected the liner to not dry out as quickly and to stay water-resistant. I think I used it to create a thicker line by building it up caused it to dry out quicker because it's designed for the thin line. I think for the quality it wasn't too expensive I got it for £3.99 but that was due to an offer. Let me know if any of you have tried this product :)

Summer holiday memories with family

Well hello to you my reader chums!

I have spent a lot of time with my family this summer. This is because my auntie, uncle, and cousins who I haven't seen for a few years came down to England from Greece. It has been a very busy last couple of weeks but I've honestly had the best time. We went in so many days out and had so much fun! I absolutely love my family and now they've gone back, I really do miss them. Due to them coming down it did really bring the family together again just like old times. I wanted to document this amazing summer with my favourite photos.

Paintballing and then a meal at the Toby carvery, kind of like our last supper with them. I can honestly say the last couple of weeks have been amazing. We've had so many days out to different places where we had a blast. I love the Driscoll family to pieces and I'm so glad that this summer we spent so much time together.
Everyone is so close again and it's just like old times. It was sad to see them go home but I'm really thankful for the precious memories we created this summer with not only them but the rest of the Driscoll clan! I hope you enjoyed this very picture-heavy blog and have all had a great summer too! I think 2013 has been one of my best summers spending a lot of time with friends as well as having these precious moments with the family <3

Thank you got reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it!

Update and mini haul!

Well hello to you my reader chums!

It's been a while again I know so apologies for the lack of blogging! I've been very busy spending time with family, having lots of days out and it's been really fun! A blog will be up on that soon!

For my UK readers, you'll probably know that on Thursday was A level results day, ahhhh  nervous times! However I was extremely shocked and happy with my results! I received a B in my English well an A in the actual exam but my coursework grade brought me down.. However I was over the moon about it! In history I got a C and in philosophy a D meaning no fails, yay!
As a treat afterwards my parents decided to let me and Maria (my twin) have a shopping day with my mum! First thing we did when we were there was go this this posh little cafe and this is what i got:

The cake was delicious and so rich, mmmm! Here are the few things I picked up at the shops:
The first thing was a navy crop top with the words vintage written in floral from republic. It was £12 and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it because its just super cute!

The next thing was this blush in morning dew from topshop. I've wanted this blush since I saw Tanya burr do a tutorial on it! The problem was the topshop closest to me doesn't stock the make up range, so when I went to the bigger topshop in Canterbury I was really happy to see they had it! As you can see I've already used some because I couldn't wait to try it out, it gives such a lovely subtle glow to the cheeks  :)

The last thing from this shopping trip was the blush brush from real techniques which I've also wanted for ages! It's such a soft brush!
I went shopping yesterday to our local town because my sister wanted to buy this bag but I ended up with a couple of things..
Another collared top for the collection, I'm literally obsessed! This one was from new look in the sale for £9, what a bargain, I absolutely love it!

I also picked up some baby lips because they have finally arrived in the uk! I got the flavour peach kiss, purely because it was purple haha!
The last make up item I got when I was out with my friend the other week was a waterproof eye liner as I was in need of one! I got the scandal eyes micro fine liner in waterproof by Rimmel because I've never seen it before so I wanted to test it out!

I'll probably do reviews in these products later this month :)

The final item is this Clinique floral tin that I got off eBay as I needed something to store my brushes in!
I thought it was really cute because I love floraly things!

I hope you enjoyed this haul and my little update! I'll do reviews on some of these products very soon! Thank you for reading <3

Review: MUA nail polish

Well hello to you my dear reader chums!

Apologies for the lack of blogs, you see my auntie and cousins are down from Greece who I haven't seen in a couple of years, meaning we've been spending a lot of time with them! I've missed them so much, and having all these days out is just like old times!  I will put a blog post up next week or so when they've gone giving you a look at the times we had together :)

Today, I'm doing a review on one of the nail polishes I received from MUA with the name frozen yogurt.
This nail polish is a purple/ indigo type colour which I absolutely love! The
consistency of the polish itself it's quite watery which means it takes a few layers to build up the actual colour. Once on, the colour looks lovely on the nails and I would say lasts for a good couple of days before it chips with a top coat. For one pound I think this nail polish is definetly amazing, the colour is pretty, it last for a few days and for that price where can you go wrong?! Another fantastic product from MUA!
Here's some nail art I did on top of the polish, I think it looks really cute as I'm a massive fan of dots!

July favourites

Well hello to you my dear reader chums!

We're in August already, I can't believe it! Where did July go?! July has been such a good month with the summer holidays kicking off where I've spent a lot of time down the beach with friends. The sun has been shining in the UK and I've been loving it, still failed to get a proper tan though.

If you're looking for a shimmery eye shadow, the best waterproof mascara or cleanser, here are my July favourites.

July favourites

MUA shimmery palette

Fashionista eye shadow palette by MUA

If you've been following my blog you'd probably know I received this in my package from MUA that I won. I love this palette, the colours are really shimmery and pigmented. This month I'd say I've been using the creamy colour called double-take the most as I find it a lovely colour in the crease for an ultra-creamy look, with a champagne colour on the lid.

The two bottom colours I find are good for a bronzy eye look, I didn't even realise that the one on the right was a bronzer! I should read the back more. The nude colour is perfect for a base. I'm really impressed with this palette because I'm a big fan of shimmery neutral eye shadows and these definitely fit the bill with them being extremely pigmented and pretty as well!

Vitamin E Body Shop cleanser and toner

Vitamin E Body Shop cleanser and toner

Before getting these I used to just use make-up wipes to take off my make-up and not really do much else if I'm honest. However, now I find using this cleanser and toner for that purpose is much easier and leaves the skin feeling refreshed. The cleanser has a lovely creamy texture that when applied to the skin feels gentle and easily removes all my make-up! The toner is just as amazing with removing the excess make-up with only a small amount needed. After using these products I can honestly say my skin feels so soft and revitalised. The cleanser also has a nice smell, a little bonus!

Vitamin E Body Shop Moisturiser

Vitamin E Body Shop Moisturiser

The next product also came in the set from the Body Shop, it's the moisturiser from the same range. I fell in love with this moisturiser as soon as I first applied it! The consistency is extremely soft/light and only a small amount is needed when applied to the face to feel like it's doing the job. It has the loveliest smell and leaves the face instantly refreshed and awakened, would definitely recommend it!

White Coal Eyeliner from MUA

White Coal Eyeliner from MUA

I've started to get into wearing white eyeliner on the waterline instead of black this month because I find it brightens up the eyes even more and is so much less harsh especially in the summertime. For a coal liner I think it stays on for a reasonable amount of time, but not all day, meaning it would probably need to be applied again later in the day. However, for a pound, it's a great bargain!

Collection's nail polish in 'fruit salad'

For me, the colour coral is a really summery colour and I absolutely love it. The nail polish itself doesn't stay on for that long and chips after a couple of days, however. I'm currently wearing it on my toes and it just enforces the idea of summer for me! I think a bold colour is needed in the summer to finish off an outfit and this totally fits that idea!

Falsies mascara in waterproof by Maybelline

I was extremely excited when I finally got my hands on this because I've heard so many amazing reviews and it's Tanya Burr's favourite mascara. It honestly does live up to its name because it gives the lashes a false look effect by lengthening and volumising them! The waterproof aspect is just a bonus because as I'm going to be spending most of the summer down the beach a waterproof mascara is a necessity. It doesn't smudge easily and stays on all day.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it! What are everyone else's monthly favourites? <3
